INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

After a strategic review of Customs export and import restrictions on most of the products, we have regrettably decided that we are no longer able to accept or process orders for international customers outside the UNITED KINGDOM (UK).

We do not ship to BFPO addresses or to Freight Forwarders.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your valued custom in the past and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

REGISTERED FIREARMS DEALERS - PROOFING

We have been asked by the Proof House, as agents of Brownells USA, to remind all trade customers on purchasing pressure bearing parts such as, chambered barrels, receivers, bolts etc. that:

"It is a criminal offence to import Firearms into the UK which have not been proved in a C.I.P (the international proof governing body) approved Proof House, without giving written notification to the British Proof Authority within 7 Days of their entry or submitting for proof within 28 days of their entry. It is also a criminal offence to export a firearm which is not marked with a valid Proof Mark."

Please ensure that you comply with the above requirement.

Delivery timescales are dependent on where the products are sourced. The majority of products are held at our US warehouse with some goods being held at the EU and UK warehouses. The location sourcing of the products will be detailed under the ‘Add to basket’ button. Timescales for delivery will differ accordingly:

‘In stock, delivery from Brownells USA’ - We aim to achieve 5-7 working days for delivery from dispatch, please allow 7-10 working days.

‘In stock, delivery from EU warehouse’ - We aim to achieve 5-7 working days for delivery from dispatch, please allow 7-10 working days.

‘In stock, delivery from UK warehouse’ - We aim to achieve 2-3 working days for delivery from dispatch.

If you have registered, you can check the status of your orders and backorders by logging into ‘My account’ and going to your ‘My orders’ section where you will also see your tracking details.
A shipping confirmation email containing a ParcelForce tracking link will be sent once the order has been dispatched. The tracking will not activate until ParcelForce have received the order from customs and scanned it into their system. The ParcelForce website will show the below message:

'Tracking status: Advised. We have no tracks for your parcel yet. The status of your parcel will be updated in due course.'

We make every effort to deliver goods within the estimated timescales, however delays are occasionally inevitable and time for delivery will neither be of the essence nor will it be a fundamental term of the contract between us. We will endeavour to keep you informed of any delay to your expected delivery date. The estimated delivery timescales are dependent on airfreight and customs clearance.
You are responsible for providing the full and correct delivery address, ensuring availability to receive delivery of your order, and that the delivery destination is suitable for delivery.

SPECIFIC KNIFE SALE TERMS

Our company policy states that we shall not supply knives of any kind (nor knife making materials or accessories), to persons under the age of 18 years. We regret that we cannot send knives to educational addresses. We supply knives solely for legitimate field, recreational, sports and utility use, or as collectable curios. We reserve the right to refuse a sale or terminate a contract should we have any reason whatsoever to believe that the person to whom we shall supply may be under the age of 18 years, or if we believe that the supply may contravene any other legislation affecting the sale of knives. Further, by entering into a contract with us for the purchase of a knife, you are hereby consenting to our undertaking such searches as may be reasonably to satisfy ourselves as to legislative compliance.
The following statements are made for the purpose of giving guidance, and cannot be viewed as comprehensive knife safety instructions. Ultimately, knife safety is your responsibility and common sense should be exercised at all times. A blunt or carelessly handled knife can cause serious injury. Keep a keen edge on your knife and exercise caution when sharpening the blade. Always use a Knife with proper due care and attention, and never use a knife as a pry bar or a screwdriver, or for a purpose for which it is not specifically designed. Never threaten anybody with a knife, even in jest, as this is a serious Criminal Offence. And never leave a knife where it might be accessible to a child, a minor or any third party.

EXPANDING AMMUNITION - BULLET HEADS

The Policing & Crime Act 2017, at Section 129, changes the category of some expanding ammunition. Section 129 removes, from Section 5, some expanding ammunition and expanding projectiles.  Prior to this Act both complete rounds of expanding ammunition and individual expanding projectiles were prohibited without the necessary Authority. Since the coming into force of this Section of the Act, on May 2nd 2017, all expanding ammunition other than that solely designed for use in pistols, will be regarded as Section 1.

Expanding pistol ammunition will remain controlled in the UK. The EU Weapons Directive 91/477/EEC of the 18 June 1991 prohibited expanding pistol ammunition except for certain purposes e.g. humane dispatch. Pistol cartridge ammunition for rifles will be exempt where it is loaded specifically for rifles of the correct proof.

If you wish to purchase expanding pistol caliber bullet heads we will need you to provide us with your local RFD details and you will need to confirm that they will accept these on your behalf. If the RFD has an account with us we can ship to them, if not we will require them to fax or email their RFD certificate. Once this is done you can place the order with their address as an 'alternative delivery address' when you place the order. Once this arrangement is in place all future orders from Brownells UK that require validation of your firearms certificate can be shipped to your local RFD. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact customer service at: sales@brownells.co.uk or by telephone on: 01788 815115.

What are cookies? A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is usually a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user's web browser while a user is browsing a website. When the user browses the same website in the future, the data stored in the cookie can be retrieved by the website to notify the website of the user's previous activity. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember the state of the website or activity the user had taken in the past. This can include clicking particular buttons, logging in, or a record of which pages were visited by the user. Other kinds of cookies perform essential functions in the modern Web. Perhaps most importantly, authentication cookies are the most common method used by web servers to know whether the user is logged in or not, and which account they are logged in under. Without such a mechanism, the site would not know whether to send a page full of sensitive information, or a message saying "sorry, you need to log in".

FIREARM STORAGE

If your own a Firearm or Shotgun, Firearms Licencing offers guidance for storage at home, for the Firearm / Shotgun and ammunition. Registered Firearms Dealers can store your Firearm, Shotgun or even Air Rifles / Pistols on your behalf, where you benefit from the dealers security measures rather than purchasing your own.

Any Firearm, Shotgun, Air Rifle or Pistol can be stored with us for as little as 50p per day, per item (approx £15 per month). Please contact us on Tel: 01788 815115 or by email for details: sales@brownells.co.uk
