too thin(27/07/2010)
another example of poor dimensions in a cast product.
This grip makes my day.(22/08/2010)
I installed this main spring housing on both of my Colt Delta Elites. To me the fit and feel are fine and it makes a big difference in my control of the firearm during rapid fire shooting. I recommend them.
V-Grip is great to shoot.(05/05/2011)
Installed on a Kimber Classic Custom Target 1911 in 2002 by Wilson. Fit great save for a small overhang from the frame, not a nuisance unless you really try to find it, fitting may be recommended but not required. Pushes the pistol forward in my hand and naturally elevates the front sight. It does make the grip look larger, but function exceeds form. Ordering another for my new Kimber SIS.
I highly recommend this item(05/06/2011)
Fit like a glove! Dropped in PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting option & great quality(25/08/2016)
Tried this on my new Gold Cup 'cause I really don't like the straight backstrap. It really is nicely made, & just slid in perfectly. I think it gives a kind of in-between feel between the straight housing & the arched one. In the end, I think I'll swap it out for an arched backstrap: I've got large hands & the arch just nestles into the indentation in the bottom part of my hand & forces it (comfortably) higher, but it was great to try this high-quality piece: it'll probably be perfect for someone.
Very nice piece(04/03/2010)
Definitely helps with the grip angle for those who find the flat housing not working for you.
Compared to the arched housing, slightly less comfortable but better angle and more secure grip.
As far as quality, what can I say it's a Wilson part.
The 30 LPI checkering is immaculate.
Love this part. Highly recommended as an alternative to the arched.
V-Grip = arched plus(12/01/2012)
Think of it as a flat mainspring housing wedged out at the bottom. It fits my hand very much like an arched housing, only with a little extra below where the arched one would round off.It took a little fitting to function with the Kimber firing pin safety mechanism.
Great Fit & Finish(29/01/2014)
Great fit and finish to my Loaded Springfield. Looks and feels great. Product was listed as drop in. I think of drop in as ready to go. Product description should be updated to reflect this is just the housing and internals are not supplied.
Great 1911 Upgrade(17/12/2016)
Just installed this Stainless Steel V-grip mainspring housing and I am glad I did it. Replaced the stock plastic housing on my Kimber Stainless ll 45 ACP. Install was easy with no extra fitting or problems. It positions the shooting hand and keeps it high into the grip safety. For larger size hands it enlarges the grip for better control the gun. Very well made and enhances the look of the 1911. I have put 150 rounds of 230 grain ball, and 100 rounds of 185 grain truncated FMJ through it so far with the new addition. No problems were to be had and it felt very good shooting both two and single hand.
