Brownells USA Solid, no voids 03/09/2010

I ordered the Les Baer when another grip safety I planned to use was out of stock. It was well finished, and only the faintest casting line was visible on the back. It was fairly easy to fit and blend in using the instructions found in Mike Watkins' Guntech article, "Building A 1911: Part VI"

It was the first grip safety I've fitted on my own. It is thicker at the point where it meets up with the lower tangs than Ed Brown Memory Groove safeties I've bought. I did have to remove a lot of metal at this point, but there was plenty left. There were no voids in the part, and I had no trouble polishing it up after the fitting.
