great squib rod too(11/01/2013)
Typical Dewey high quality. Yes, it works great as a chamber rod, but I really bought it to use as a handgun 'squib rod' (someone always seems to stick a bullet in the barrel at the USPSA matches or in a training class). I wanted a brass rod after reading about the plastic squib rods breaking. The diameter of this rod (the CHS: 'shotgun' model) is such that it is a TIGHT fit in 9mm/.38/.357 bores. I cut the threaded end off as I did not want it to split/expand and stick in the bore when removing a tightly stuck bullet. With the end cut off, the rod length is about 8.5" (good for most handguns and fits fine in the range bag). The handle is also easier to tap on than a 'bare rod' is.
