This NM spring guide makes a noticeable difference in the smoothness of operation. Really slicks up the action. I have them in all my M1A's and consider anything else sub-standard, especially the USGI spring guides. Sadlak is a top-notch company and customer service is excellent. Also, and this is a big one that is not obvious, the SG improves magazine lockup substantially. Buy with confidence.

These are a must for all M1A/M14 users! You can actually feel the difference the first time you pull bolt back! In my opinion, seems to tighten up action and improve magazine lock up. A dramatic improvement over stamped sheet metal OEM rod spring guides. Top notch quality and built to last.

Installed this in my SA standard M1A. Just hand cycling the rifle felt smoother and with less felt effort.Also, the spring lays out straight, even and unkinked on this rod. The rifle should come with this from the factory. Top notch machining, with fit and finish to match. Best mod I made to the rifle.

WHILE SCOWERING THE INTERNET FOR POSSIBLE UPGRADES FOR MY SOCOM II. I WAS IN THE MARKET FOR A U.S.G.I. BIRCH STOCK AND A FEW OTHER ACCESSORIES, SO I WAS LOOKING DAILY FOR SOMETHING NEW. I BEGAN ASKING AROUND TO OTHER M14/M1A OWNER'S ABOUT POSSIBLE UPGRADES, IMPROVEMENTS AND DO IT YOURSELF PROJECTS.

OR COMMERCIAL SPRING GUIDES, THE SPRING TENDS TO "BUNCH UP" OR HAVE A SNAKE LIKE APPEARANCE. HOWEVER, ONE OF THE BEST DIFFERENCES TO ME WAS HOW SMOOTH IT MADE THE ACTION OF MY RIFLE.
I CYCLED THE ACTION A FEW TIMES BY HAND AND LOVED THE DIFFERENCE. THE OP ROD SEEMED TO GLIDE EFFORTLESSLY DOWN THE TRACK, CAUSING THE BOLT AND EVERYTHING ELSE TO SYNC IN PERFECT UNISON TOGETHER. I WAS VERY SATISFIED AND BECAME AN IMMEDIATE FAN OF SADLAK INDUSTRIES.

The difference between the standard guide and this one is night and day. The new guide makes the action smoother, as it does not allow the spring to bunch up in a non- linear manner. I can't speak to any accuracy increase because I changed a stock and rear sight at the same time I installed the new guide. However, the three changes made a significant positive difference in how my M1A SOCOM 16 shoots. Honestly, it is pretty sad that SAI does not just ship all their guns with an upgraded guide and better stock.

When I removed the factory spring guide from my Scout Squad I found it gouged on the corners and warped. The sheet steel factory guides are junk. This plus a premium set of recoil and hammer springs has dramatically improved the rifle. Every M1A deserves a match grade guide.

I just completed an EBR build and installed this Sadlak spring guide. after installation I work the action several times and the guide Rod and spring worked together perfectly. However I think the best benefit was a faster more positive magazine lock up. So far I have only had time to sight in the rifle with a new scope at 25 yards, but I have very tight groups.
