Aluminum/steel or titanium firing pins weigh less than half of original factory firing pins, and the weight savings alone would decrease lock times dramatically. But, for even faster lock times and to help ensure positive ignition, the Tubb Firing Pins come with a factory weight chrome silicon spring. CS springs maintain load height and compression strength without taking a set for thousands of compression cycles. Faster lock time means there's less chance of gun movement between the time the trigger is pulled and the firing pin hits the primer. Tubb Firing Pins cut lock time without increasing vibrations AND maintain positive ignition. Designed by NRA Highpower Rifle and Highpower Silhouette Champion David Tubb. Perfect for benchrest shooting and especially valuable for off-hand shooters...whether they're Highpower or Silhouette competitors, or hunters wanting the best, cleanest shot possible. Firing Pin Removal Tool, Kleinendorst Firing Pin Tool, and Sinclair Firing Pin Removal Tool sold seperately.
SPECS: Firing Pin - 70 series machined aluminum with 4140 steel tips. Spring - Chrome silicon, heat treated, shot peened, stress relieved. Remington models not for use with ISS bolt lock system.

AN ACCURACY IMPROVER!!!(10/01/2013)
ALWAYS SEE AN ACCURACY GAIN OVER STOCK RIFLE PINS AND SPRINGS. SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS TO INSTALL OR SEE A GUNSMITH...ALSO A GOOD TIME TO LIGHTEN THAT HEAVY STOCK TRIGGER SOME. I THINK YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED WITH THE IMPROVED RESULTS.
Not as Advertised(25/01/2014)
Came as two short springs with no info or instructions. Nothing on Tubbs website about two springs. Called Tubbs they said to just put the two together. Tried every combination with the two springs and nothing worked. Would not function with my timney trigger. Called Brownells for help and they didn't know any thing about the two spring set up. Had to ship back.
Per install(05/07/2014)
Straight forward install, but no instructions. The 2 springs were a bit perplexing for a couple seconds until you put them end to end against the old spring and from their combined length realize that this is how they are meant to be installed. Protrusion was a bit long at .085 but I expect they are made that way to facilitate fitting and was summarily set back to factory spec.
Definitely not an install for a novice with no tools or lathe.
Poor Fit and Bad Spring(01/03/2012)
When installing the firing pin, I found that the pin hole for the cocking piece was off by about half the width of the hole. I ended up filing off the back of the firing pin to align it with the cocking piece. After filing it down I discovered that the hole was also drilled crooked. I then re-drilled it out so that I could get the pin in. After that I put the spring on and screwed the shroud into the bolt body only to discover that the spring bound up inside the bolt body. I tried it out and found that it gave really inconsistent primer strikes because the spring was dragging on both the firing pin and inside the bolt body. Ended up tossing it and went back to using the factory firing pin and spring.
Get one for every gun(16/02/2013)
Very easy to install - you will need a firing pin tool - and the results will show up immediately in improved accuracy
Superior shooting, inferior quality ctrl(04/03/2015)
I want to start off by saying the product seems to function as described.
The reason I am giving this product three stars is due to the poor quality control in the manufacturing process.
Like other reviewers I had problems reinstalling the cross pin. The pinhole in the firing pin is out of spec and way too tight.
If I am going to pay made in America prices I should receive made in America quality and American quality-control.
