Brownells USA ♦Disappointed♦ 21/03/2015

This was is my first and last AI stock. I own a good collection of rifles and shoot an average of 4k rounds a year. So, not new to shooting by any means. I was debating a McMillan A5 or the "AI AT1.5 308" for a few weeks, and against my better judgment I chose the "AI" just for the sake of saying I had one in my collection.

But starting from the beginning... It arrived in decent packaging and installation was real simple.

I had a NXS 8-32X 56obj on my action, with Nightforce (one piece) base and low ultralite rings. When torque was complete I tried to adjust the cheek riser to an optimal position of comfort and clarity.

I CAN NOT ADJUST THE CHEEK PIECE LOW ENOUGH FOR A CLEAR PICTURE.

I removed the insert, bottomed out the cheek piece (Had to buy shorter screws) and shifted the pad to the far right in my attempt. I like my optics low to the barrel, but with this you need mid or high rings to take advantage of the adjustable riser.

Also, the length of pull (with all inserts in place) was to short for me (I'm 5'11") and have never had this issue bother me so badly.

(Today was day two of a 200rd range day shooting at 300yd and it was an uncomfortable shooting experience. I was operating from prone, with a harris bi-pod and the attached mount is to far back for my personal liking and I have now ordered an atlas for the forward spigot, in hopes to help this.

Overall this has turned into one of those things where "I have spent this much already, so now I feel the need to make it work".
