For the $, I'm impressed with quality!(02/05/2012)
I'm replacing a wooden forend. Wanted simple and lightweight, got both! Perfect for home defense. Didn't need or want attachments - very satisfied!
quality material(27/04/2013)
Got this in the full stock kit, and had to gripe about it. quality material used and a nice finished product, but the fitment is horrible. the nut that holds it on to the slide still hangs out of the forend about 1/2 way and looks terrible when installed. the nut now comes VERY close to the barel ring.
Useless(07/05/2018)
I could NOT get this to fit my 870 Police Magnum. Once attached, the forend tube nut hits the barrel mounting ring before the shotgun's bolt locks into the barrel extension. Since the bolt cannot lock into place, the gun will not fire (thankfully). I have tightened the tube nut as far down as possible and still the forend assembly is too long and prevents the gun from going into battery. Other brands of 870 replacement forends work just fine. The problem is with this model. It is completely useless and a waste of time and money. It may be made to work with some removal of plastic material from the forend but there is little bearing surface as it is. Alternatively, the face of the tube nut could be relieved a little bit but I don't find that to be an acceptable solution either. I just went with a different forend (also from Brownells) that fit and functioned perfectly right out of the box.
