Not real happy(05/09/2013)
I ordered two of these for a couple of rifles that I have. I put the trigger in one and it was an improvement from the AWEFUL stock trigger but it said it was adjustable from 1-3#. The best I could get it to break at was an inconsistant 3.5# I expected far better from Timney. If anyone has any advice on how to better adjust this I will be happy to change my review.
Fantastic trigger(21/01/2018)
Very easy to install. Very crisp, light pull. All around great improvement over the factory trigger. Only complaint is poor instructions
Top of the line(07/06/2010)
This trigger was easy to install, fit the first time with minimal alterations to the gun and works great. It's like my old Win. Model 70 is a brand new rifle.
I would buy this product again.(17/02/2011)
I have a mid to late 90's Classic Sporter BOSS in .264 Win Mag. If your looking at this you probably know that although the model 70's are great guns, thier triggers suck. At least im my opinion. I installed it myself while sitting in my living room in about 30 mins, by no means am i a gunsmith but i am mechanically inclined. With proper tools and a work area its really a 10 min. job. All I used was an allen wrench a nail and a hammer. It was as simple as removing the old trigger and sear and replacing it with the all in one unit. It required no modification to the gun, stock, or trigger plate whatsoever. I did not have to adjust the trigger at all after installation. It has absolutley 0 creep, and the least overtravel ive ever seen its hard to even tell there is any. Its right at 2.5 pounds as well. I could tinker with it and get it lower but its fine by me as it is, It sure beats the 9 pound factory trigger I was used to.
Nice thoughts, but look at compatability(14/10/2011)
I purchased a Winchester Model 70 Coyote in .308 and the factory trigeer was quite heavy, so I ordered a Timney Trigger to replace the factory one. When I received the Timney Trigger, I knew that I had a problem, the sear was not located in the same spot as the one on the factory trigger. So, I called Timney and they said to send it to them to install. After about a week had gone by, I received an email from Timney stating that they are sending my rifle back and that their trigger will not work in my rifle. They shipped my rifle back free of charge and reimbursed me for the cost of the trigger that I had bought from them. Now, if the Manufactor can't get it fit/work, where is the QUALITY CONTROL? Nice service, but terrible trigger.
Great trigger(01/06/2012)
Bought this trigger to replace the Jard trigger I had installed. Never could adjust the creep out of the Jard. This trigger dropped right into my Model 70 Classic Sporter. No adjustments or gunsmthing needed. Trigger was factory set and crisply breaks at 3#. Absolutely no creep.
great product(30/08/2012)
model 70 bolt safty - needed to work safty in, a little hard at first but so smoooooth
Great upgrade. Perfect fit.(12/09/2012)
Despite mixed reviews on various websites, the trigger fit my New Haven Classic perfectly. Installation took about 15 minutes and the safety worked properly without any modifications. Trigger typical Timney-crisp three pound pull as received; no need to adjust. Only isaue was the instructions. There must be a prior model without a through hole for the small pin that holds the bolt stop that requires the pin to be shortened or the receiver tapped for a small machine screw to replace the pin. Before ordering I had downloaded installation instructions from the Timney website. When reading the package instructions I noticed they were different. The downloaded instructions were the ones to follow for the trigger I received. Definitely worth trying if you want a great trigger for a Model 70.
