Makes A Perfect 90\ Cut When Squaring The Hammer Hooks
Our specially designed, two-sided, square file greatly simplifies trigger jobs by establishing the required, precise, 90°, hammer hook angle. Saves those easily-worn stones for setting hook heights and putting on the final polish. Safe on two sides, cannot damage hammer, and safe to use with the various hammer/trigger sear jigs. Keeps its sharp corners and dead flat edges, even after extended use. Available with or without plastic handle (handle color may vary).

A must have tool(17/08/2010)
I used this on my hammer (1911) which after looking at it under magnification needed help. I was able to file my hammer hooks straight and true. It cuts really nice and without a lot of effort. Save the edges on your stones. Use them for polishing up after you square the hooks. The safety edges are nice and flat and I imagine this will last a very long for hobby smith like myself. I am thoroughly please with my pistol post trigger job. This is a worthwhile investment.
NEW FUNCTION FOR THIS FILE !!!!!!!!(05/08/2017)
HAVE DISCOVERED A NEW USE FOR THIS AWESOME FILE & WANTED TO SHARE IT, WITH MY "SHOOTING FAMILY"..........
NEEDED TO INSTALL A MIL-SPEC PICATINNY "RING RISER" ON TOP OF A #11 WEAVER BASE & DISCOVERED THE WEAVER BASE SLOT IS UNDERSIZED IN BOTH THE DEPTH & WIDTH. GOT OUT THE FILES & WENT TO WORK ON THAT SLOT & THINKING "DON'T BLOW THIS. GOT TO KEEP THE BOTTOM & SIDES OF THE SLOT 90 DEGREE SQUARE".
AFTER WIDENING THE SLOT IN THE BASE, I SUDDENLY THOUGHT ABOUT THE FILE IN QUESTION. 2 SAFE SIDES & 2 VERY FINE CUT SIDES, WOULD BE PERFECT TO FINISH CUTTING THE NOTCH. MEASURED THE DIMENSIONS ON THE FILE & THE NOTCH ON THE PICTATINNY RISER---DIMENSIONS WERE ALMOST IDENTICAL TO EACH OTHER !!!!!!!!!! SO, IF YOU EVER HAVE TO MODIFY THE SLOT ON A WEAVER BASE, REMEMBER TO USE YOUR 1911 HAMMER HOOK FILE & CHALK THE CUTTING TEETH WHILE IN USE----OOORAH !!!
