Decent Magazine(19/11/2015)
I purchased 2 of the 5 round magazines for my new 6.5 grendel build. Both are well built, like many of the Brownell magazines, and Colt LEO/Military magazines. Very well coated with a tough coating. The one downside is they are a touch oversized. I use this on a factory DPMS lower, which accepts all aluminum magazines (fall free when dropped), Magpul composite magazines are a touch tight (must be pulled out), but still work. These are quite very tight fitting. They are hard to put in, hard to lock into place, and extremely hard to remove. I have inserted and removed approximately 100 times, and they have loosened up a bit, you can smell and see the coating coming off.
I wish they would say these are 5 AND 10 round magazines. They are limited to 5 rounds simply because they have a 30rd mag spring in the bottom, but unstretched. If you stretch it out to 10 coils and cut it off (I removed a 5.56 20rd mag spring), it turns into a 10 round magazine. I think after a bit of work, they will be great magazines.
Ok(07/12/2017)
Using Hornady black ammo the fed and cycled fine. Mag didn't drop freely. It only held 4 rounds. Could be done better
Well built but still lacking...(14/02/2016)
I purchased three of these magazines for my 6.5 Grendel however when using them the follower is undersized in depth enough to allow forward/backward movement. This allows enough forward movement that the bolt catch tab doesn't catch the top/back edge of the follower to lock the bolt back after the last round. All three of my magazines suffer from this. Sad.
Junk(17/02/2016)
Will not feed at all. Absolute price of garbage.
They work fine for me.(23/04/2016)
I have ten of these magazines. I use these magazine not only in my 264LBC/"Grendel", but also with two 7.62x39 uppers. Two of the 10 were very stiff when new (failure to feed first round), but the second loading of the magazine, and all afterwards, fed perfectly. Yes, they can be hard to load the 10th round, but some sanding on the follower legs fixes that quickly if normal use doesn't.
All uppers, and lowers, are slightly different. The three uppers using these magazines successfully are V7 Systems, BCM, and PSA; the lowers are PSA, S&W, and RRA.
If I Could Give This 0 Stars...(20/02/2017)
What can one say about a product that should get 0 stars? I'll try to think of something. These are very flimsy, poorly constructed and cannot be disassembled to clean or correct minor problems.
I bought two 10 round C Products magazines for my son's upper build. One had the spring showing in the side window. Because of this the mag wouldn't lock into place while empty and, when loaded and the spring was out of sight, it would lock but the magazine would fall out when there was one round left. It may be the spring just isn't seated on the follower correctly but the magazine can't be disassembled without bending metal tabs to check. Didn't want to do that in case I need to return them.
The "good" magazine worked well with steel cased Wolf ammo but, for some reason, would only feed the better Hornady ammo as a single shot; each shot the magazine had to be lifted into the mag well so the bolt would catch the case and feed it.
Truly a problem here. I'll have to talk to the techs at Brownells to see if anything can be done but I don't have a lot of hope. It's unfortunate this is the only 6.5 Grendel magazine offered here, I'd pay more for something that worked!
Ok(07/12/2017)
Using Hornady black ammo it fed perfect, however it would not hold 10 rounds. Could definitely be done better.
120 rounds of flawless action(12/12/2017)
Bought this one on Black Friday weekend because of cost. I know there are other brands available and to be honest i was hesitant about this mag based on the other reviews here and around the internet. I decided to roll the dice because I knew Brownells would stand behind this product of the manufacturer would not for some reason. All i have to say is i took the rifle out yesterday and it ran perfect. 3 rounds, 5 rounds, 10 rounds in the mag did not make a difference. I was using factory Wolf Military Classic ammo. Every single round fed every single time without fail.
Works Well(31/08/2018)
I've used C-Products' Grendel 10-round mags with Hornady Custom, Hornady Black, Wolf Brass, and Wolf Steel. There has never been a capacity issue v.v. 10 rounds are what one will hold, time after time. There have never been misfeeds or jams. They work fine even after being accidentally dropped onto sandy ground. Cleaning after the range ... a couple shots of compressed air if they've been contaminated.
They are tough. And they just work ... and that's what one buys magazines to do.
My build has an FDE handguard and stock so I painted the magazines with Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II paint in FDE. Once cured, the paint has adhered with a near diamond-hard finish.
