Machined aluminum free-float handguard employs a unique barrel nut and rotary-locking system to ensure proper alignment of top rail with receiver rail. Handguard slides over barrel and gas tube at an offset angle, until the notched barrel nut indexes in the internal grooved channel for a secure fit. Two hex head screws lock down the handguard, and a built-in stop prevents over tightening. Vent holes let heat escape the barrel and minimize weight. White alpha-numeric designators on the cross-slots ensure easy repeatability of accessory positions. Streamlined Alpha models have a single, top Picatinny rail, deep horizontal grooves for a secure no-slip grip, and additional ventilation holes to reduce weight and dissipate heat. Come with three bolt-on rails for mounting additional accessories exactly where you need them. Alpha models fit standard factory AR-15/M16 barrel nut.
SPECS: Machined 6061 T6 aluminum, hardcoat anodized, Teflon coated, matte black finish. Each model available lengths listed below. Mounting hardware and instructions included. Alpha fits AR-15/M16 rifles and carbines and attaches to the factory barrel nut.

Great Rail(17/04/2015)
This is a great handguard. It's easy to install, looks great, and is comfortable to hold.
Love this thing(15/06/2012)
Replaced a MI 12" quad rail with this. It is lighter and much slimmer. The fact that I can configure it to my own needs is worth the price! Get the IWC micro flush QD sling mount while you are at it and don't look back.
great rail. very light and works awesome(05/02/2014)
I picked this rail because I loved being able to choose where I wanted to mount the rails. You save weight and can use and many or as few rails as you like.
This is the only handguard I use anymore(26/07/2012)
The Troy Alpha hand guards are excellent. They're very light and very high quality.
The mounting system of this rail is ingenious. The three mounting bolts screw into three steel nuts that press against the barrel nut and center up the rail. The only way you could strip one is if you were trying to do it on purpose.
wow(09/01/2013)
The product....amazing....beautiful.....I LOVE IT. The only things that you should make sure you have is a low profile gas block. I tried to mill down my stock one and it didn't work. A low pro is a must, just get one. Next, is the barrel nut. A $5 military surplus one will do just fine. Other than that, your set. If your "thinking" about buying this, don't think, BUY IT!
Best Price to Performance Option!(08/03/2013)
Light is Right. And the Troy Alpha is among the lightest freefloat handguards with full single top rail. The diamiter is small, which combined with the love-it or hate-it Troy "cheese grater" ribbing and holes, provides a great gripping surface; wet or dry, gloved or bare handed. The 13" is great for the 16" and longer barrels. I'd suggest going 11" if you are running a pinned 14.5" barrel. While these handguards come with three attachable rail segments, I prefer not use them if I don't have to, due to weight. That is where the Noveseke accessories come in; their QD sling swival and sling stud attachments make for very low cost, low wieght and nearly zero space features for attaching a sling with a QD and a Harris biopod. Oh, while you're ordering accessories, check out the "Squid Grip"... LOVE THEM! Sure, if you have the BIG bucks, then the even slimer and lighter Noveseke NSR rails are great (if you can find them!), but for almost half the price of those, these are the value-leader BY FAR!
Highly Recommended!
Worth every penny!(09/07/2012)
I installed one of these on a customer's M&P 15T. My customer wanted the lightest freefloat rail available - this is it! If you need to shed some weight and aren't in love with decorating your AR like an Xmas tree - less is more! The directions are a bit underwritten, however. They say to just cut off the Delta ring and install the Alpha Rail. I, for one, don't enjoy putting a cutoff on my Dremel and grinding on a new gun - I removed the BBL in the usual fashion, removed the Delta ring, reinstalled with a low profile gas block and attached the Troy Alpha Rail...done deal! This thing is rigid, light and adaptable with the included rail sections.
New Quick Attach Rail Sections(29/10/2017)
I must admit I am somewhat of a Troy Industries fan. I use their products extensively on many of my builds. However, I do have one criticism, I do not like the new attachment method for their Quick Attach Rail Sections. They utilize these tiny threaded tabs that are difficult to maneuver into position and slip around galling the inside of the forearm tube when tightening. I much prefer the older solid flat bar that was threaded in two locations to accept the clamping screws. I understand the desire to innovate but this is not an improvement.
I love the forearms but I'm not sure I want to use these anymore because of this.
This rail is the best I have ever used. Light weight, sturdy, slim and best of all uses a standard barrel nut. Troy got it right with this rail.
Great forend!(21/06/2012)
Used a 9" Alpha Rail on an AR-15 pistol with an 11" barrel. The fit and finish are fantastic. The hanguard indexes into position against the upper to provide a "near monolithic" upper configuration. Uninterrupted top rail is superb for positioning sight systems wherever you need them. Three bolt securing system locks the unit in place for a very solid feel. Add on rails provide flexibility for positioning lasers, lights, etc.
