Rugged Steel Construction; Deploys Fast For Instant Emergency Use
Heavy-duty, steel construction makes these emergency rear flip sights the tactical shooter’s choice for LE and military tasks requiring a compact, backup, sight system of superior strength and dependability. Deploys easily with the flick of your thumb; disengages down, out of your sight path when not in use by depressing the spring-loaded pushbutton. Extra thick, protective ears guard against blows that could potentially bend or break the sight post or aperture. Solid clamp with large crossbolt provides rock solid attachment to Weaver or Picatinny rail systems. Knurled and slotted, quick-release thumbscrew makes sight easy to install/remove. Rear Flip Sight's low-profile design attaches to A4 flattop receivers and regulates correctly with standard, M16/M4 front sights, as well as all Yankee Hill front sights. Rugged, steel base features an aluminum stem to keep weight to a minimum. Deploys instantly with thumb pressure. Large, knurled, screw head provides 1⁄2 M.O.A. windage adjustment. Includes flip-style aperture with .065" and .200" diameter peepholes for short- and long-range accuracy.

A very effective backup sight.(05/09/2009)
Simple, light weight, and effective. The only con is that the lock up detent seems like it could be stronger. But then again, mine has lasted several years and still locks in place and stays up.
Good BUIS(21/09/2009)
This sight is pretty good, decent quality and holds zero well. The only drawback from this sight is that it doesnt sit up high enough to clear optics when "flipped up". Otherwise good product. I use it behind my EOTech and it isnt quite tall enough to clear the sight glass. If they would rais it up another 1/8 inch it would be perfect.
Rear Sight(23/09/2009)
My initial impressions of this sight were good however I found that it constantly loosened up under fire.
good buis(17/01/2010)
I have this on my AR with the vltor rail system and an Aimpoint with a lowmount. Works great! Only problem with "losing zero" is probably due to the A2 windage nob. Personally, I don't have any problems with it at all and would recommend it.
solid sight(12/04/2010)
Mounted to a Rock River flat top upper with standard A2 front sight and gas block. It's actually a lot of sight for a BUIS. Two apertures, for closer and long ranges, full windage adjustments. Locks up well in the deployed position, folds down passively (no detent holding it closed, just a little friction) As mentioned, the thumb knob that anchors the sight to the receiver will work lose. That is the biggest con. I had to loctite the threads to keep it firm. Not a problem for me as I don't remove the sight anyway. Will co-witness with the Comp series of Aimpoints, mine is mounted with the ARMS quick detach mount with spacer. Is not the lowest profile sight when folded down, so if that is an important feature for you, you might not like it, though it is completely out of my way when using the Aimpoint.
Dont buy(09/08/2010)
Had this sight on my rifle for duty use. It fell off and now lost. No way would I buy this again. Loc-tite (on screw threads) was used to keep it in place. Rifle was needed for emergency duty use and thans to a reliable acog, this back up iron sight was not needed.
Good Product.(03/01/2011)
I use this product on my AR for competition, i have to agree that the lock nut comes loose easily on vibration of firing, i fixed the problem with Loctite and staking the nut. Other than that... im' happy.
Allows for change(20/01/2011)
This sight allowed me to mount an xs csat on it.
Won't trust it(17/08/2012)
I have read the other reviews. All the pros line up with mine. I placed this sight on my patrol rifle for a BUIS. I placed the rifle in a hard case. When I removed the rifle from the case, the sight had come loose and fell off. Mind you, this is without firing a single round.
I like it(09/09/2012)
I have 2 of these rear sights on my ARs and find them to be just what I needed. When I don't need them they stay folded and unobtrusive. When needed, they are easy to deploy and use. I have been using them for several years without them coming loose. I do check the screws from time to time and they always seem tight
Outstanding rear iron sight(12/11/2016)
This rear sight co/witnesses perfectly with my Aimpoint PRO in addition to my YHM forearm front sight. I now have a reliable MBUS back up tp rely on at any time. The construction is heavy duty and will last.
Great Backup IRON Sight(18/05/2017)
I don't understand the complaints about this sight falling off. I installed it 8 years ago with blue loctite (obviously) and have never had that problem. It is now on a new gun and no problems whatsoever.
The only complaint is that it sits too high when folded to fit under some of the newer scopes. I have a Primary Arms 1-6 on my latest rifle and I can't use the sight under it. So I've moved it to a rifle with a red dot. I couldn't be happier.
I can only guess that if people are having problems they are either not using loctite (which should be used when attaching ANYTHING to a firearm) or are using the thumb screw to make it finger tight!
