Doesn't work in mine... (02/10/2015)

Needed it for my Colt Woodsman Match Target (1950). All info in the Q&A says this is the one I need (notch in mag, mag release on side by trigger guard, mag bottom angle parallel to barrel, etc). Loads in gun fine but can't release slide (hits mag lips and stops). If I load one cartridge into chamber, close slide, then insert the loaded mag, it works fine for all remaining shots.

Late model Colt Woodsman magazines (27/02/2016)

Have just received 2 of these mags for My series 3 Woodsman Target Match. Initially the bullets would not feed as the front feed lips were too tight. Original mags have straight front feed lips. I straightened these by gripping them with pliers and bending outwards slightly. Feeding problem solved. The slide would not close with a full mag. Had to file down the tops of the feed lips very slightly and problem solved. Polished lips with emery cloth and mags functioned flawlessly. Minor adjustments needed but easy to do with good results.

Triple K 394M Colt,10 round Mag (20/12/2017)

Somewhat confusing about which mag to pick, early vs late, and comments from others. My Woodsman is a 1960 Sport Model w/4"barrel. Original mag has a 'notch' and held in with a flip fastener at the base of the mag on the stock. This Triple K 394 "Late Colt" 22 Long Rifle works perfectly. It looks like the original mag, I haven't shot it yet so I don't know how it feeds but I'll bet that it is OK. If not, I'll adjust it, I was just glad to find a 2nd magazine.

Nice budget mag for Series 2 Woodsman (03/03/2018)

I have 4 of these Triple K (late) Woodsman mags for my Woodsman Series 2 with the mag release aft of the trigger guard.

The mag I bought new from Brownells worked great out of the package. Three others I bought used all work, but two of them needed some minor sanding and buffing of feed lips so the slide would not catch going forward. After sanding rough steel edges and rounding the rear of the feed lips with 2000 grit sandpaper, they work fine. Good alternative to the 3 figure cost of a used genuine colt magazine.

Would give 5 stars except they don't come apart for cleaning (a long cotton swab does work), and because of the 2 that needed minor work to be reliable.
