They have updated their previous Medium-Taper profile taking into account customer feedback, optimizing the barrel to meet the Gunner brand's high standards. The .308 Big Gunner profile barrels are the big-brother to our famous 5.56 Gunner barrels. The Big Gunners feature a medium-taper behind the gas block. The gas block journal is set to .750" for compatibility with most common gas blocks and 1.9" in length for long blocks or aftermarket piston kits. From the gas block journal forward we use a thinner taper, designed to reduce weight yet maintain rigidity for high rates of fire and as a suppressor host. The Gunner barrels are ideal for any competition or duty use. When the seconds count, count on the Gunner profile. Brownells USA Faxon 20" .308 barrel 29/03/2018

I ordered this barrel and it just arrived today. Its a perfect fit on my Aero Precision upper. I haven't shot this rifle yet but it looks perfect. I wanted a .308 AR barrel that I could mount a standard "A" front sight on and this is the barrel you need for that. Faxon makes two AR .308 pencil barrels. On the one barrel the journal where the gas block or front base goes is too short for the "A" front sight base. This is the barrel you want for mounting the "A" front sight base. The journal length needed is 1.1 inch for the "A" front sight base. The other journal length is .6 inch long and is right for a gas block. I am completely satisfied.
