Requires special tool! (16/05/2011)

Requires a 9/16-28 tap to install. Brownells does not sell this size tap (or has it hidden very well). My stock has holes in it while I wait for what appears to be a fairly rare tap from a specialty dealer.

Decent product (12/07/2011)

These swivels work well, are of durable steel construction and eliminate the exposed studs when shooting off bags.

For the record, the threaded cups are 9/16"-18, not 9/16"-28 as indicated. Not exactly the most common tap size but it's easy to drill out the stock with a 9/16" drill and epoxy the cup in place. Grovtec also sells Ã¸.500" "glue-in" cups that are easier to install if you can't find the $9 tap online. Just give them a call.

These are nice swivels sets. I insatlled these on my Savage 93R17 TRR-SR. I used the 9/16 - 18 tap suggested below and it worked perfectly. I used Marine-Tex to glue in the cups. Everything worked out very good.

We are custom rifle builders and have gone to this GroveTec product on all our custom tactical and hunting rifles. You do need proper tools to install neatly: 1/2" forstner bit, 9/16"x18tpi tap, and a tube of JB Weld; all available in any good hardware store. Superior made in America product. No down side.
