The RIFLE FIBER OPTIC GLOW 41-W FRONT SIGHT from MARBLE ARMS is designed for both serious enthusiasts and casual shooters alike. These sights are precision-made for rifles, accommodating both ramp bases and those without.
To select the appropriate sight height, refer to the Marbles and/or Williams charts. Determine the required Sight Style, Bead Type, and Width based on the information provided above. Use the accompanying chart to identify the correct Marbles Sight and note the 9-digit Ordering No.
For example, if you require a Contoured Ramp Front Sight with an “MR” width, standing .290" (7.4mm) high, and featuring a 1/16" (1.6mm) gold bead, follow the Height listing to the .290" figure, read across the “MR” line to the 1/16" gold bead, and note the number: 579-502-911.

Fitting needed, remove fiber to install 15/09/2017
Yes, this sight has a base that is wider than most slots--I think the base on mine measured around .392". Would be a real advantage in an older, well-used rifle if its dovetail was "relieved" at some point; however, it's a (small) hassle to fit on a new gun (Henry Big Boy for me). A grinding wheel--a small Dremel grinding wheel works--might speed up the process over a file, but go slow and check
Even when you've got the base tapered so you can get it started well, you'll still have to pound to get it centered; well, at least it won't come loose! Remove the fiber-optic pipe before doing so (the pipe has only two supports, and so is more easy to snap as you pound the sight), and replace it (presses in) when you're done.
Very pleased with the final result: handsome and very bright.
Requires too much work to install 12/10/2015
Replaced a Williams fiber optic front post with one from Marble
and I should have stayed with Williams. Even after filing numerous times the marble F.O. front post was extremely hard to install - if you file too much off you're screwed, so you end up
trying to fit it over and over again, filing a bit more each time. the Williams fiber optic front posts fit perfectly the first time you try. Save yourself a lot of grief and just by the Williams product.
