This is how Mossberg should've done it.(22/01/2016)
Stud truly rotates in take-down screw, big improvement over OEM. Works on 20 gauge guns as well. Installation is easy and takes 2 minutes with the included tool.
Perfect solution for Maverick 88(29/03/2018)
For a Maverick 88, this Outdoor Connection brand is the way to go. I tried Uncle Mike's 1531-2 parts, but the tiny screw does NOT stay in the takedown bolt, even with superglue, and even if it did, it would be hard to line it up evenly, as it is meant to stay in a static position and not spin 360 degrees. The Outdoor Connection brand however, is perfect. The replacement takedown bolt with integrated swivel stud fits perfectly and easily onto my Maverick 88. The silver cylinder included in the pack is a very handy tool for unscrewing the factory slotted retainer ring (no retainer ring included in this pack, just re-use the one your shotgun already has). Highly recommended if you want to put a sling on your Maverick 88. And unlike the Uncle Mike's 1531-2, this one DOES allow your sling 360 degrees of free rotation where it attaches to the magazine tube. Shipping was faster than expected (ordered on a Sunday, arrived 4 days later on Thursday even after choosing the cheapest, slowest shipping option), THANKS BROWNELLS & OUTDOOR CONNECTION!!
Won't screw down!(17/10/2015)
It doesn't fit!
The magazine cap wouldn't screw on. Yeah(16/02/2017)
The magazine cap wouldn't screw on my gun. Hard to believe isn't it?
I kept tying to get it to go on, but the cap had defective threads. Two other 870 magazine caps that I had screwed on to this gun just fine. But the cap that came with the swivel kit from Outdoor Connection would not go one at all.
I was worried that this defective magazine cap would ruin the threads on the magazine tube of my gun, so I tossed it.
Save yourself a lot of time and trouble, DON'T BUY THIS.
