ISMI is the best!(31/10/2009)
ISMI Springs are my first and only choice of spring. They last forever.
GREAT VALUE(28/01/2014)
I used this 18 lb recoil spring in conjuction with the ISMI 17 lb mainspring in a High Standard 1911. This combo lightens the trigger and maintains safe, reliable function of the 1911.
these springs are horrible(30/05/2010)
weaker than the one i bought it to replace. sent it back for a refund, and bought wolff.
don't waste your money on these chrome silicon gimmicks.
Works Fine in several 1911's(23/02/2017)
I have used these several times for 1911 replacement springs.
Normally 16 lb. weight is the proper factory spring replacement.
Trust ISMI(31/10/2009)
I use ISMI exclusively in both Glocks and 1911. They last forever.
Absolutely(31/10/2009)
ISMI is my only choice. Period
Not for my 1911(14/12/2012)
Had heard good things (from USPSA/IPSC shooters mostly) about these, so decided to try one instead of the Wolff springs I normally use. Was a mistake: While the spring 'weight' tested correctly (12#) on my spring tester, I observed it became coil-bound before normal compressed length for a 5" 1911. Sure enough, it did the same thing when I installed it in the gun (a DW PM-9, 5" 9mm; std. recoil set up w/o any buffer). The spring became coil bound and did not allow full rearward slide movement. I tried to contact ISMI but never got any response. Not sure of other 'weight' ISMI springs are like this, but I will not purchase anymore of thiers (the Wolff ones work fine in this gun).
Spring will not let slide travel fully(29/03/2016)
My most useful comment is not to buy one of these. I had the same trouble as the other reviewer that the spring become spring bound before the slide can travel full length. This result in having to use slide release instead of "sling shot" release (pulling the slide back by hand and releasing) during magazine changes. I had this trouble with a Kimber 1911 target II .38 Super. Its the chance you take with after market products.
IMSI doesn't measure up.(01/07/2013)
The 11 pound spring measures 9 pounds on a spring tester. The rating on the package should be very close to the spring inside.
