Go Gauge for .50 BMG RIIFLE< NOT BROWNIN(08/12/2017)
This is probably a fine product for the Ruger or other rifle using the .50 cal BMG cartridge. The REAL .50 Cal BMG, Aircraft model, uses a HEADSPACE Gauge to obtain proper barrel replacement when the old barrel melts. If the gunner holds his fire to 3-6 shot bursts and allows his barrel to cool, he will probably not melt his barrels, but NEVER DISCARD a droopy or melted barrel; a good machinist can refurbish the old barrels to work almost as well as factory new, with nice added features. I still have my original issue go-nogo gage that the USMC gave me, as I was the only one allowed to service and maintain our 2 Browning M2s. Amazing accuracy with optical sights and singlefire mode off a special made tripod/pintle mount hybrid. Probably could extend range with a well-sighted in varmint scope. I know 35+ old farts like me who can handle 2.5 km to 4 km? The new kids are probably better, but I'm old-fashioned and like to just reach out and touch someone. 3/65 HCMTForest Recon
Great Buy(07/01/2012)
The best feature of this gauge is not having to disassemble the bolt. It worked great verifying an old M1 Carbine I was thinking about buying.

Well thought out(30/06/2009)
The notch cut in the rim is genius. It allows you to headspace the barrel without the need to disassemble the bolt. Well machined and perfectly to spec.

Product no.: 430106315 MANSON PRECISION 8.6 BLACKOUT GO GAUGE Mfr Part: GO8.6BLACKOUT Gives the proper chamber headspace dimensions so you know a firearm is safe to fire. GO gauge gives the SAMMI-recommended, minimum chamber depth. NO/GO is slightly longer than the SAMMI-recommended to identify excessive chamber depth and an unsafe condition. Precision-ground and hardened to provide long service life. MIXING AND MATCHING BRANDS OF HEADSPACE GAUGES - Don't do it!! That's the short answer, here's why. It boils down to tolerance stacking. Each Headspace Gauge manufacturer works within a range specified by SAAMI. Manufacturer "A" may work at the high end of the range while Manufacturer "B's" gauges are in the middle of the tolerance range. Mixing the two could give an inaccurate reading. By sticking with one brand within a particular caliber, you will eliminate a variable. If you have a Forster, .308 GO gauge, get a Forster, .308 NO GO. Use Clymer with Clymer and Manson Precision with Manson Precision, etc. You can use any brand of headspace gauge with any other brand of chambering reamer. e.g. Forster Headspace Gauges with Clymer Reamers, Manson Precision Gauges with JGS Reamers, etc.
