Does not fit TM or JLBillet 308 uppers (24/01/2016)

This cover has a clean look that blends well with the unique machining designs on many 308 uppers. The cover's hinge pin is retractable with the port cover open, eliminating the need to access the hinge pin hole to depress the plunger to remove the cover. A feature not available on my other "quick disconnect" port cover. Overall the design is attractive and, in concept, provides a bit more protection from the elements than a standard cover. However, this is where the problem is rooted. The lip that creates the secondary seal is just too large for the cover to close. I tried this cover on a Tactical Machine 308 upper and a JLBillet 308 upper. Both units had the same problem, the secondary seal did not allow the cover to close. Ultimately, I removed the seal making the backside of the cover smooth. The cover closes nicely now and looks good, but it no longer provides the secondary line of protection it was designed to have. 2 stars for great looks and a good concept. 3 stars lost for not fitting uppers from at least two manufacturers. I hope that Strike Industries modifies these in the future to fit more uppers.

Perfect fit (08/08/2016)

Used on an Armalite AR-10. Took about 5 seconds to install. Fits perfectly. Color matches perfectly. Works perfectly. Have used other dust covers from this company on AR-15's. Can't beat the cost or the quality.

Looks great, poor fitting (03/11/2016)

Bought this for my Combat Shooter's receiver and had problems with the lip seal not fitting inside the port. Removed seal, dust cover fits flat, but the edges stick out just a tad. Enough to where I can my bore light shinning on the edges. Seems like the seal/lip needs to be moved inward a little, with the ends moved closer to the center. Would have been a great feature because of the ease of installment and removal, but the poor fitting really hurt it.

Great cover (22/02/2017)

I just received this dust cover for my DPMS 308 yesterday. It's well made and it fit, didn't have to anything to it. You can have it on in less than 30 seconds.

Installed it on my aero m5 308 upper in 2 seconds .the detent ball used to secure the door closed is on the tight side but I'm positive this will smooth out with a little use.what else is there to say about a dust cover . It works
