Good product(30/09/2014)
This complete upper was used for a pistol build. Easy to work with.
Bravo to Bravo as always!(31/01/2015)
I have trusted Bravo/BCM stuff for a long time. No surprises here. Outstanding product. I like that the bore where the barrel mounts is a bit tighter, just a bit. Makes for a more accurate system. Has the military forward assist too! Good to go and Brownells speed for shipping is outstanding!!!
Difficult build(08/03/2015)
Take down pin would not pass thru (Spikes Tactical lower), Barrel would not seat, much pounding required ( Daniel Defense 18 inch hammer forged barrel)
Good fit(14/07/2015)
Fit and function was good, Great value for budget minded build.
Barrel will not seat.(05/12/2015)
Attempted to install Bravo Company barrel in the Bravo Company upper receiver and the barrel will not seat, as another review had stated. Barrel fits fine in other upper receivers.
Best quality regular M4 upper available!(07/03/2016)
The tolerances are held tighter as are the clearances for some things. The barrel to receiver fit is perfect. A little time with a hair drier and the barrel slides right in. This receiver is worth the extra money in my opinion, especially if building a varmint/target/match rig.
Works as advertised(01/06/2016)
A few complaints about barrel not fitting into receiver. False. Most higher quality uppers fit tightly. So, without sounding too negative, if the barrel doesn't fit, learn to read BCM's site which tells builders it's a tight fit, and learn to build an AR. DO NOT HONE OR SAND with this receiver; no need. Anyway, the not-so-secret trick: (Optional: Put barrel in freezer for no less than an hour...results vary.) Warm the upper receiver barrel channel with a good hair dryer (get permission from owner first...lol) or heat gun. Apply lite coating of grease on barrel extension and inside barrel channel in receiver. Insert barrel into receiver. *Do the heating part, lube, and insert (yes, we're still talking about assembling an AR) barrel quickly, as the upper will lose heat quick. Ta-Da! It fits! Now, ensure to let the receiver/barrel combo come to room temperature before putting on barrel nut. ---This process is not new and just because other barrels have went right in other receivers just fine, doesn't mean the initial tight fit is not correct; the tight fit helps improve durability and accuracy. Lapping the receiver prior to doing the above can also remove unknowns in regards to possible inaccuracy. Ironically Brownells has a tool for that too.
Solid Reciever(03/01/2017)
After reading other reviews/complaints its plain to see who has/hasnt build an ar before or is clueless, which is ok but its not the products fault. If you cant get your barrel into the receiver use a torch and heat the receiver throat this will expand the aluminum. Freezing the barrel will not do much, if you don't believe measure it before and after steel is less susceptible to thermal expansion and contraction then aluminum.
Best forged upper available(22/10/2017)
Barrel fits tight like it's supposed too, finish is perfect, dry lube coated on the inside (most aren't). They don't get any better than this, only cheaper, or more expensive. I've stopped buying anything else but BCM uppers and factory build lowers.
Great product(20/01/2018)
Bought this for my daughter's rifle build. Took ten minutes with a heat gun and I had the barrel installed. Let it cool and it has no wobble. I'm buying another for my next build
