Incl mounting holes; max 1.5" at vise(02/12/2010)
The unit I received had two 3/8" holes in the base for mounting - not shown in photo. It can be bolted or clamped to the edge of a heavy steel shop bench, allowing you to have the barrel going vertically (in case you have side plates on your bench, precluding you from having the barrel going over the bench horizontally).
I used a 3x5 index card to protect the barrel (1.450 straight cylinder) and that worked fine - no cuts in the card, much less the barrel.
Not mentioned in the product text, max barrel diameter at the clamping point is about 1.500".
Even though there was plenty of anti-seize on the barrel threads, I was glad to be using an 18" breaker bar to break my barrel loose.
Very Sturdy product(18/10/2013)
I bought it after reading first review stateing that mounting holes were drilled. They were 3/8 bolt worked perfectly mounted rock solid it's good to 1.5" as stated if you use lead protectors back that number down. For the price I think this is a good buy that should last through many barrels.
