I put use this product on my XD-45 Tactical. I carry this gun every day. After only 6 months the adhesive began to weaken to the point the grip would move freely around. I have had to trim the grip several times now because it will not stay in place and slides around. The adhesive really goes down hill in the warm weather. I shoot a lot and like I said this is my duty gun so it sees a ton of use and I understand that these things do not last forever, but I would like to get more than 6 months out of it for the price. I do like the grip texture and the way it secures the pistol in your hand, but would like to get more use out of it. I would imagine that this product will work perfectly on a pistol that lives in a gun safe rather than a holster.

If you're having problems with the adhesive it may be due to the solvents used to clean your weapon. Solvents will remove almost any type of adhesive plus some are so strong the will damage most if not all guns using polymers for stocks,frames or slides. If your having problems with your A-Grip read the last page of the installation instructions. Brooks Tactical GUARANTEES the A-Grips for one year from date of purchase so you should give them a call if you have any problem with the grip. I own several weapons used for concealed carry on a daily basis and all of them have A-Grips installed on them. I have a Glock-30 and a Glock-26 that have had the same A-Grips on them for over eight years and the A-Grips on them still fit and look great. Proper installation is very critical but also very easy. Making sure that the grip is cleaned throughly with alcohol and allowed to dry completley is the main trick for a good installation. The directions for installation that come with the A-Grips are very detailed but simple to understand, I think Brooks Tactical put as much forethought into coming up with the installation instructions as they did developing the material that the A-Grips are made from. I found out a long time ago that reading and understanding the directions for anything is a must before even starting any type of project and even though installing the A-Grips is a simple procedure the directions are there for a reason. My concealed carry weapons get a pretty healthy workout because depending on the weather I may carry them in a holster, a Dillon Day planner,the console in my car, the glove compartment or if it's really hot just shoved down the front of my levis appendix style with no holster at all. You get the picture, everytime I leave the house I've got a weapon and the weapon of choice is my Glock-30 in .45 ACP with Glock-21 magazines with grip spacers that I have covered with the A-Grip material useing their "universal"5x8 inch sheet. The Glock-26 carries Glock-17 mags covered the same way and believe me when I carry appendix style in the winter the A-Grip material feels a lot warmer than shoving that cold gun down the front of my pants plus the A-Grip material prevents the weapons from just sliding down the inside of my pants and winding up in my boot! The direction sheet on the back page states that the A-Grip under "NON-ABUSIVE" conditions should last 1 to 5 years but two of mine are over eight years old and still fit and look great. All I do is when they start getting shinny areas on them from where there is a lot of contact is to use dishwashing soap in warm water and gently wash the entire grip. After the grip is dry I use a stiff nylon bristle brush(or even a "hard bristle" toothbrush) to "re-fluff" the grip surface. The A-Grip directions say that you can use a blow-dryer after BLOTTING, NOT RUBBING! to finish drying the material then use a bronze or a brass bristol brush to re-fluff the A-Grip material but I perfer a stiff nylon brush, maybe that's why my grips have lasted this long. About your problem with the material coming loose here's what I'd do. First contact Brooks Tactical and explain the problem with them because they will send you as much of their adhesive tape as necessary to correct the problem. Next thing is where you're having problems with the adhesive coming loose would be to peel the grip material back past the problem area and clean the back of the A-Grip material and the area it is going to recover with 90% rubbing alcohol. Do this twice and let the A-Grip and the weapons grip air dry throughly. Then peel the adhesive tape backing off being careful not to touch the adhesive portion any more than neccesary and apply it to the back side of the A-Grip. From here it's just a simple matter of restreching the A-Grip back over the weapons grip. When the material is in place rub the A-Grip down FIRMLY from the inside area towards the edge of where the A-Grip overlaps itself, you will also need to have cleaned the A-Grip material that you will be overlapping with the 90% rubbing alcohol also to ensure a good bond. Finally decided to give one a try. Bottom line, it works. I 'accidentally' discovered a final installation step I believe necessary for an even,tight fit I will explain below. Read installation instructions carefully and completely. Tpda's 1st step,throw away 1" sq. alcohol swab,get 91% rubbing alcohol(not seventy-something,you need the faster evap. later),lose the slide,apply alcohol liberally & go to town with old toothbrush/similar. Now do your hands too, greasebag! Apply as per Brooks' instructions. The only thing I did differently is trim around slide release lever and mag well with quality, small sharp scissors (pictured below). Personally, I'm not putting ANYTHING under my slide catch, and I'm keeping that Jentra plug too. The extra step: once installed,wipe AGrip with 91% alcohol. What it does:the adhesive will temporarily relax its grip(until dry again),thereby allowing AGrips fabric to evenly distribute its' elastic properties,making it shrink back into its' original shape,relaxing areas that were overstretched during installation. This "shrinking" forces the grip to conform to frames checkering evenly,and recesses' areas,including the trigger block/extractor pin holes(which were previously indistinguishable). As grip dries and adhesive re-cures,firmly aid the adhesion as before,around thumb rests and such,PERPENDICULAR PRESSURE ONLY!!!!!! You just allowed fabric to relax back into its' natural shape in order to stabilize elasticity and minimize exposed corners from rolling up,so don't re-form the same localized hi-stretch areas you just relaxed/evened out. Sun-drying & low humidity decrease drying time, and periodic squeezing of grip is recommended during re-cure for maximum adhesion, mine was completely dry & cured in less than 1 hour. The final fit was noticeably better than before,and should eliminate unwanted "peeling" as being grips' eventual demise.
Care: "modern" poly-framed tact. arms should not be exposed to solvents, and lubricants used very sparingly (less IS better!)on service areas,slide underbelly should stay free of lubricant.I prefer silicone inside of magazine recess(via a small shot of aerosol on cotton wipe), I also treated magazine catch sides before the recommended Brooks' lube.
What I would do differently:the back-strap is too low for me on gen.3's,next time I'll fabricate and adhere one to frames' back-strap before installing next AGrip (which Brooks' does recommend in instructions). Where can I find customizable checkered strips of rubber for professional results? Brooks, are you listening???
P.S.- Or if you liked your old "slip-on" style grip enhancer,give it a try,fit will be tighter, and shifting non-existent. I even used some of the extra adhesive that comes w/AGrip to fasten the rubber finger grooves to the factory Glock grooves(I had previously removed material from underside of rubber finger grooves eliminating shifting of rubber "ridges". The recently redesigned Pachmayer slip-ons look to be the best candidate on market if combining,eliminating the need for modifying. It would also keep wrap in place until eventual wear out. Grip traction gains are substantial with AGrip, and downright unbelievable when a rubber slip-on is added.

I had this awesome grip on my G29 for years. I run my G29 with 15 round G20 mags and an A&G grip adapter. I had a KaBoom from faulty factory ammo and this grip contained the blast and helped save my hand. Agrip was so well made it held in mag release which was broken in half and blew out both sides of grip. Also held frame together and absorbed the brass fragments from case failure.... Small frame cracks could have been failure points. I am sure this grip took the hit for me like a ballistic vest would...Thank you Brownells and Agrip/Brooks Tactical

I have a P99; the plastic grip is slippery when my hands sweat. I put this stuff on; its not thick so didn't alter the fit much but greatly improved my ability to hold the gun winter or summer. Good gripping, like suede leather not sharp or aggressive- very pleasant feeling to me. Rain doesn't seem to bother it. In winter the gun didn't feel so cold to my bare hand and gripped well bare handed or gloved. Stays on the gun very well but eventually may peel at exposed corners (after a few yrs of moderate use.) Wish it wasn't so hard to find now. I first applied this to the gun about 6-7 years ago and was holding up very well ( a thumb patch was starting to peel). Took it off for some repairs; once off need to replace with new. Did not leave any sticky residue on the original grip either. Not cheap but worth it.

I have AGrip on my Glock 23, 35 and soon to be 27. This is high tech material, really strange but very comfortable for concealed carry and competition shooting alike. It's really an all weather type material. Solid grip when wet, dry, warm or cold. Best grip I've found for sweaty palms.

Don't wing it, follow the installation directions!

After following the directions and doing everything properly I finally had a ball of fabric that couldn't be untangled. No matter how I put this thing on my gun, I had way too much excess material everywhere. It hung into the mag well, jammed up the slide stop and completely blocked safe access into the trigger guard area. Eventually the product just ripped and became another gun gadget destined for the garbage.

I've been at the gun game for twenty years and have never seen a more ridiculous product. This looks like a solution in need of a problem.

Poor fitment and downright dangerous design that covers the magazine release (COVERS THE MAG RELEASE!), interferes with the slide stop lever and hangs down over the mag well. Go with some grip tape or even better do a stipple job. This is absolute junk.

Was using bicycle inner tubes for gen 4 Glock 19. I had problems with my grip slipping when wet. Ran into this product online and read some good reviews and decided to go ahead and try these grips out. These grips stay on the pistol very well once installed and I don't mind doing the installation required.. as long as it's worth my time. It's true that these grips work well when wet (kind of), however, when dry I they are worse than the original stippling (more counter productive than anything..). I really wanted to give this product a fair try (around 3 weeks) and decided to use a smaller section of bicycle inner tube over top around the middle so I could have the best of both worlds. Long story short, after awhile of carrying with these grips they became more annoying than useful so I pulled them off. These are not good quality grips that I could put up with. Brownells was great.. grips were bad. If you are on the fence of making the decision to spend some money to at least see if you might like them and cut your losses if you don't, I highly recommend that you move on to something else.

Great grip, increased control and comfort. I recommend this grip for any firearm.

I've always found that the Glock grip isn't very grippy. This solves that problem!!! Two warnings: 1) it doesn't last forever-- it'll wear off especially in spots where it rubs on the holster and will eventually require replacement; I'm not saying that it's fragile, just be warned that it's basically sandpaper and will wear like sandpaper. 2) I wouldn't recommend it if you use your gun for concealed carry as it will grip your clothing and give away the farm.

First off A-Grips ARE NOT MADE OF SANDPAPER! The material is a special fiberous hybrid material designed for enhancing the pistols grip. It is non-abrasive,highly durable and extremely resistant to splitting,tearing,abrasion and wear.It is also highly resistant to solvents and oils when installed properley. Every one of my concealed carry weapons has an A-Grip on them and even my magazines have A-Grip "mag-wraps" on them. They actually enhance the grip on the weapon when wet,damp or covered in blood. Try to get a firm grip on a rubber slip-on grip when it's wet, it's like trying to grab a greased pig! The stick-on grips that are actually made of sandpaper do not adhere well and they will roll and peel when damp plus they will wear blisters on your hand and wear out good holsters. The reason for this is that the stick-on grip pieces ARE made of sandpaper and we all know what sandpaper is designed to do,it's designed specifically to BE ABRASIVE. A-Grips are smooth to the touch and they do not stick to your clothing enhancing "profiling" of the weapon. They don't get "tacky or sticky" until they get damp. Even the stick-on grips made of cork roll and peel and get slippery when they get wet.I have a Glock-30 and a Glock-26 that I put A-Grips on several years ago and I carry one of them at all times either in a holster or just appendix style without a holster and when they start to get smooth areas on them all I do is wash the grips with a mild detergent then when the grip dries I just brush the grips with a firm nylon brush and the material "naps" back up just like new. When I first started using A-Grips MANY years ago I refered to them as little tuxedos for the grips. I had my doubts about the durability of the thin material but after years of carry I'm a firm believer in the durability of these grips. As long as you follow the very detailed installation instructions that come with the grips they will probably still be in great shape when you pass your weapon down the line to your next generation of shooters. If you run into any kind of a problem installing the A-Grip the direction sheet has a phone number to call to help you install them properly, but Brooks went to a lot of trouble trying to make the directions simple and specific. There is even extra double sided tape and alcohol pads included with each grip and the grips are die cut for each specific weapon. Another thing that I've found out is that the grip material is thin enough that my Crimson Trace laser sights fit right over the A-Grip and the pins that hold the laser on still line up just fine. One more thing that even I had a problem grasping is that as well as the A-Grip material adheres to the grip is that if for some reason you ever have to remove it from the weapon it comes off and leaves absolutley no adhesive residue on the grip. That is a big plus because before I discovered Brooks Tactical A-Grip I tried some of the other stick-on grips that were available like the sandpaper one and after winding up with a hand full of blisters after running a box of ammo thru my Glock-30 I decided that the sandpaper grips were coming off. I don't know what kind of adhesive they used on those things but the sandpaper actually pulled loose and left most of the adhesive on the grip. Not to bad getting all that adhesive off if you consider blowing a whole weekend and a couple bottles of 90 percent alcohol and a butt load of elbow grease fun. The great thing about putting an A-Grip on your weapon is that they really help you control the weapon better in good or bad weather and they don't interfere with the controls.As a matter of fact the grip covers both sides of the magazine release keeping out dirt and grime that ccould cause the mag release to fail. If you'll buy just one and try it out I guarantee that pretty soon you'll have one on every weapon you own and you'll be telling all of your shooting buddies that they neen to put them on their weapons as well. I'm forever sold on the A-Grip and if you'll try just one you will be too.

Update to previous review-- I made an error and it is not a sandpaper material. I reported my error to Brownells but the review was never removed, my apologies. In any event, pretty much everything I said still applies, minus the sandpaper comment. And, yes, it does wear out and stretch in over worked areas. Still, I prefer this to the sandpaper types of grips and continue to use it over the years.

I use this product on all of my polymer frame guns. Provides grip in any weather. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is it takes practice and a little finesse to put it on.

This is by far the best grip I've seen--way better than rubber or sandpaper sleeves or tape wrap. It goes on easily and greatly improves the stock Glock grip. It's also tough as nails, as you'll find if--and when--you try to cut it. Despite what one reviewer said about how the grip protects the mag release I found that it really hindered its functioning. Making cutouts solved that problem (takes a sharp xacto knife). You'll also have to cut holes for the trigger housing pin if you want to do more than a basic field strip. These heads up aside Agrip still deserves a 5-star rating.
