The sight tool is good for a one time change. It shoule be made from brass with a 1/8" tip of plastic. I used Kroil then let the sight sit for ten minutes, cleaned the the side of the M&P site with alcohol, made sure the vise was secure and still chipped the tip. I have gone through 4 tips, most a the range while adjusting the sight on a nylon block I made for all my plastic sight guns.

Great Striker Block Holder (04/05/2011)

This product works great as a holder for a striker block while changing out the rear sight. Unlike the other review, this item is NOT a punch for the rear sight. It is just a place holder while driving the new sight in. This thing works great as long as you use it how it is meant to be used.

M&P Rear Sight HOLDING Tool. (31/03/2012)

This tool does exactly what its supposed to do. It holds the place of the rear sight so the spring and plate don't go flying. Simply slide it in as you slide your rear sight out and BAM... not flying/missing springs. This is NOT a removal tool.. its a holding tool. Either way, makes life easy when replacing sights. A++

You Don't Need 4 Hands With This Tool (01/02/2013)

This is NOT a punch or drift use this tool in conjunction with a sight pusher. You use slide this in the rear sight dovetail as the sight is pushed off. Used properly it will trap and hold the striker plunger spring and cap in place, preventing them from flying away when the rear sight is removed. As the new rear sight is pushed into place allow this tool to be pushed out of the dovetail. Do not allow any gaps to form between this tool and the rear sight's base or you will loose the spring and cap. Using this tool properly will keep you from needing 4 hands as you try to push the new sight into place, while trying hold the compressed spring and cap in place, probably buggering up the spring as you try, I sure did.

not strong enough (07/11/2013)

This tool came in an APEX trigger kit for my 9c and it simply would not budge the rear sight. The edges rounded over and chipped off. I ended up using a large flat blade screwdriver and a deadblow hammer. YMMV.

I have read on some forums about the rear sights on M&Ps being so tight as to break or almost break sight pusher tools. Be advised.
