Great sights for 43 (25/01/2018)

This was my first U-notch rear sight, so a bit of a leap of faith. I am now sold. This rear sight is great, its steel (not alum), I like the set screws for just-in-case. The notch is great, they fit great and look great on my new 43.

The pictures were shot with a flash, so they are not exactly accurate on the color; the sight is flat black.

For a front sight, I used a Trijicon HD XR glock front for a 45. (892-000-359WB ). On glocks, the height of front sight for 45/10mm is less than 9mm models. The Wilson matching front is listed at .200 high, which is same as the HD XR, (per Trijicon website). I did some math and guessed that the front would match up with this rear sight.

It matches quite well. How wide a rear for a given front is a personal thing, I like my rears pretty wide with some light on each side. The short radius of a 43 and the not super narrow front, gives a little light on each side when shooting. On a competition pistol, I would want more light per side, but on a 43, it just works.

Its a great combo, and I now want Wilson U-notch sights on the rest of my glocks!
