Didn't work for me(23/06/2012)
I combined this with a Speedlock lightweight firing pin and couldn't get it to work on my 1978 Model 70. Apparently Winchester made more than one style of bolt shroud/cocking piece combination. Mine has a "cap" in the back of the shroud and you can't see the cocking piece, except for a tab at the bottom that lets you know the rifle is cocked. This part is for a style which is open towards the back, a la Remington 700. After a week, I STILL couldn't make it work. I am not a professional gunsmith, but I do all the work on my competition rifles, and this is the first modification I have ever tried that I could't get to work. It may work in yours, just look at it carefully before ordering.
