Outstanding Upgrade 11/07/2016
Installed this on a 10/22 used occasionally for Steel Challenge competition. This is maybe the best upgrade you can make to a 10/22 that needs to be reloaded often and relatively quickly, especially considering the price.
Some may say it's not the flashiest mag release available and they'd be right. But for folks who are more concerned with function over form it's perfect. The mags lock in tight, both BX-1's and BX-25's, and drop free with the push of your index finger. It does not get in the way of or interfere with the regular function of the rifle in any way.
In the end this is a five star, two thumbs up product...

Excellent, fast with all stocks 08/02/2013
Put it on my 10/22 with a pistol grip stock (Blackhawk). The Tactical Solutions release which I had on the gun in the factory stock didn't leave my fingers any room to work it! I love the TacSol release, but not on that stock.
Installed the PWS release, now the operation is the same as dropping the mag on my AK with a Power Custom magazine release. My only complaint is that the edges are a little bit sharp.

The Best Choice 07/05/2012
I looked at a lot of other mag releases and opted for this one for several reasons. First, it places the release at your fingertips where it belongs. Second, it is a stronger design because most of the other ones are long and thin, creating a "perfect storm" for breaking them, especially in a competition environment where the adrenaline is flowing. Third, the polymer is just plain indestructible. Throw in the fact that the price is less expensive than most other choices, and it's a no-brainer.

Good fit and function 17/01/2012
Drops right in. Fits nicely around trigger guard and looks great. I really like the widen portion that allows for easy 1 handed release. Only set back is it makes it hard to actuate bolt catch, especially with gloves on, but its nothing I can't live with.

Affordable & Fast 15/10/2011
This is a great item if you're looking to improve your magazine reload time. Magazine drops free every time even when empty on my standard 10/22 carbine. Conforms nicely to the trigger housing. Ambidextrous. Easy to install: unload rifle, remove the barrel band, barrel retainer screw, slightly depress the circular magazine retainer, remove the stock magazine release, insert the new one, release the circular magazine retainer and you're done. No tools required for installation other than what's needed to get the barrel/receiver out.
I did find the edges a little sharp for my liking. A few minutes with some fine sandpaper changed that. I also decided to dremel the portion of the release near the bolt catch lever thingie to give me a little more clearance in that area because I thought it did slightly interfere with that.
I installed it in conjunction with my Tapco Intrafuse stock and works just fine. I also installed a Volquartsen bolt release (a must-have in my mind) and it does not interfere with that in any way.
The release sits about where my first joint of my extended index finger is. It would be better in ergonomics for my size hands if it rested about .5" to .75" forward of where it currently sits. However, it's in a good spot for children and women with smaller hands.
Overall, no major complaints. 5 stars is a near impossible task in my mind and gave it 4 for the reasons listed above. I plan to buy another some time in the future.

A huge improvement over factory 14/08/2011
Makes releasing the magazine easy for right- or left-handed shooters with just the use of the trigger finger. Installation took less than 5 minutes.

Great Addition! 27/06/2011
This was a great addition to my Ruger 10/22 compact! It follows the contours of the trigger guard much better than the Tactical Solutions brand, and doesnt wobble near as much (none really). Mags hold in firmly and release with ease. Only takes a small adjustment with my trigger hand/finger to release/insert a mag. Only four stars because I havent had the chance to use it at the range yet.
