No go with HP's(01/07/2010)
I got this to use in an STI 9mm 1911 and it will not work with 9rds of HP but will work with 9rds of FMJ's sent back to Check-mate and still dose not work right
Works Great with 1911 STI(19/11/2010)
Bought 10 mags for use with a STI 1911 in 9mm.shot 3 boxes of Federal ([...]) 115gr fmj.not one single problem, also de gun is new.with 124g Montana, reloads with a minor power factor, 2 FTF, L 1.150. Well made mags.Buy the Ed Brown pads, 6 in a bag, perfect fit. Also part of the FTF was that the Recoil Spring is not for the lower loads od the reloads.I shoot USPSA 6 times a month (700-800 Rds)Also IDPA twice a month
Good Buy(03/01/2011)
Nice mags. Bought three for my STI sentry 9mm and they work very well. One mag was a little tight putting in the ninth round, but it loosened up after a range session. Other than that no problems. Will buy more in the future. I'd give 'em five stars if the base plate was removable and holes were threaded. Ed Brown bumper pads worked well, though.
Meh, might be the gun, but I think not(01/02/2012)
I bought three of these magazines to go with the Caspian 9mm 1911 I built for my wife. There is a lot of variation in these magazines, as two go into the magwell pretty easily, but the third does not--feels like the body of the magazine is too wide for the frame.
When test firing the gun (please take note of this--this was my first time firing the gun), the rounds seemed to have a tendency to nose dive into the (admittedly) short ramp on the Kart EZ Fit barrel I installed. This happened just about every round.
Also, the rounds do not seat all the way to the rear of the magazine, often feeling like the slide doesn't get a good bite onto the back of the case to feed it into the chamber properly.
Putting the last round into the magazine was pretty bad, too.
Please keep in mind, I also only fired 100 rounds during this first range session, so it was about 33-34 rounds per magazine. They may loosen up over time--I'm not convinced, however.
I am also using an STI Recoil Master, so I don't know if that's causing the problem. I do know, however, that I've had to push the rounds around after feeding them into the magazine to get them to push the nose of the bullet above the front lip of the magazine body.
I want to try a couple of different magazine types, but at this time, I can't recommend these magazines for someone who needs the gun to be completely reliable.
And who doesn't want that?
Check-Mate 9mm Mags(18/08/2012)
I have been using these in a 9mm Combat Commander for IPSC Competition. I have had no feed issues and they drop cleanly from the pistol.
Excellent build(26/07/2014)
Received the mags today and have to say, these are so good I will be changing the factory mags from my STI Spartan to these for a full set. The build quality is outstanding and the follower sits the cartridge up high for a smooth reliable feed.
Best mag for my 9 mm SA RO(26/09/2014)
Great product and great price. They are cheaper here than through SA.
