Instant Comp & Bushing Give Muzzle Control, Less Recoil
Three full chambers and seven exhaust ports combine to help control recoil and muzzle climb to put you back on target faster. Installation is as easy as fitting a new barrel bushing. Fits all calibers of Govt.-length barrels with O.D. of .576" to .580". Requires minor fitting and a full-length, two-piece guide rod.

Best one to Buy(29/07/2009)
This compensator work. This my third one on my 1911(Colt, Para Ord., and SW). my grouping is less than 1" on 25m.
works as advertized(14/08/2009)
The Multi-comp definitely reduces muzzle rise. It was easy to install.
multi comp(22/02/2010)
great is all i can say, this was truly a drop in addition to my pistol and on top of making it look even more awsome it also reduces the muzzle flip a little bit. it added just over 1 1/4"s to the overall length, and it was a great addition to my pistol. along side the black gritty punisher grips and the 10 round mags that i have purchased for it this tops all of them. there was no fitting required at all.
Good full size compensator.(08/01/2011)
Every review about drop-in fit is accurate. If you are performing a custom build like I did, here are a few things I ran across. Pre-measure your opening on your slide and the comp. OD. I had to mill off .0015" for a nice snug fit. My set up was with an STI 6" long slide and barrel which extended just beyond the slide. Checking proper fit I found that I had to lathe about .002" from the ID of the comp. to clear the barrel. Wilson also recommends shortening the spring plug to 1.2". Hope this helps.
.45 Comp(26/01/2011)
Great addition to my custom .45. Gives it a more tactical look and increases it's "scare factor". It was difficult to install, and it's curves don't quite match up with the slide. Slightly noticeable difference in recoil as well helps with faster follow-up shots. On the full size 1911 it almost makes it awkwardly long as far as carry and look goes so in my opinion would look better on a commander sized or smaller.
Well worth the effort(06/03/2011)
THis took considerable fitting on my S&W 1911. Not a hard process but time consuming. I installed it with a Wolf 14# reduced power main spring and the Wilson 2 piece guide rod w shock buffer. I shot the gun side by side with a stock S&W 1911 and could readily feel the difference with ammo ranging from target velocity 200 gr loads to factory ball. Considerably less muzzle flip and felt recoil on all loads. Accuracy may have been slightly improved as well. It's a bit of a pain to clean but well worth it IMHO
I'd have given it a 5 if it was true drop in.
Awesome product(12/03/2012)
I use this on my Kimber 45 for shooting targets and hunting. It is the best investment that I have made for my Kimber so far. As it says in the details mill work is required and anyone who gives a bad rating for that reason did not read or understand what is written.
Fit and Finish(09/04/2012)
Instructions say "May need to be fitted". This was absolutely NOT the case with the Springfield M1911 A1. Tolerances are slightly different from gun to gun, but with moderate pressure and twist, the part fit the Springfield very nicely. Noticable difference in recoil and it looks good. Thank you Brownells and Wilson Combat
Works and looks great!(03/02/2013)
This was a drop in fit for my 1911! The first time I had it to the range I noticed a big difference in muzzle jump, and my follow up shots were a lot quicker. This looks really awesome as well!
Awesome product! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!(10/08/2013)
I bought this for my Colt 1991 1A, it took some time to get the OD of the comp to the correct diameter, THIS IS NOT A "DROP IN" part! Take your time, check the fit periodically (You don't want any slop here) also I highly recommend you also get the WC 2 piece guide rod for the spring, I did not have to remove any of the spring at all but assembly is much easier with the two piece rod, not to mention its another great upgrade as it keeps any spring binding from happening, just read the instructions
REALLY HAPPY(16/04/2014)
PUT THIS ON MY ISRAEL ARMS M-5000 GAL, TOOK JUST A FEW MINS TO DO SOME VERY SMALL FITTING. WORKS LIKE A CHARM AND LOOKS GOOD TOO!
Stainless Multi-Comp on SA 1911 "Loaded"(25/05/2015)
Added the Stainless Multi-Comp to my Springfield Armory "Loaded" 1911. The I.D. of the comp matched the O.D. of the SA barrel perfectly. My dial caliper showed a .0015" difference -- just enough for a thin film of lubricant! I use this 1911 in IDPA at our local range at it has helped. In "regular" target shooting, I consistently shoot 2" groups at 10 yards and that's shooting 8 rounds in 10 seconds. A very nice addition to a great 1911!
Very nice looking addition to my Springfield Range Officer. Installation is time consuming and it took quite a bit of time and emery cloth to get it to fit the slide. Barrel fit perfectly with no adjustments needed.
The caution is, at least with my Range Officer it makes dissassembly much more difficult as the front spring plug cannot be remove or installed with the Multi-Comp installed on the slide. plug must be installed, then the Multi-Comp, then the spring and spring guide held in place by hand and installed on the lower. Tricky to say the least.
