Blued Or Stainless; Elegant, Classy; Works With Either Hand; The Choice Of Professional Shooters & Pistolsmiths
Gracefully curved, grooved, extended safety for the 1911 and its copies makes this fine gun even better. Left and right handers benefit from the extra length - it's easier to find and release - while the ambidextrous feature makes "weak hand" shooting simpler. Beautifully contoured and finished, a first class addition to any 1911. Slightly oversized sear stud allows precise gunsmith fitting.
SPECS: 3/16" (4.8mm) wide x 1" (2.5cm) long left side contact area, 1/8" (3.2mm) wide x 1" (2.5cm) long right side contact area. Blued or stainless steel.

A good safety(08/11/2009)
I put this safety on a carry gun. It has a low profile unlike the wide safeties and feels good. It was easy enough to fit and looks great.
Wilson Stainless Ambi Safety(29/11/2009)
Easy to install and not a lot of gunsmithing. Outstanding quality.
A+ for wilsons safety(17/12/2010)
I have installed allot of different safety on 1911s and STI's this safety take less time to put on and I would say it is the best ambi safety for STI 2011's bar none.
Great part!!!(10/02/2011)
With a little file and stone work, product fit like a glove and works great. Thanks to Brownells and Wilson Combat for making great products available to Canadian shooters!
The Best Ambi Safety Made!(29/03/2011)
I have 4 competition 1911 based Raceguns and have been using these Wilson ambi SS safeties for years. The form, fit and function of this product is perfect.
Excellent product!(31/03/2014)
Very good fit and finish.Required only minor fitting.Couldn't be more pleased with this safety.Looks great too!
Great Ambi Safety!(04/01/2016)
Installed this item into my Springfield Armory GI 1911-A1. This item had a few sharp corners and edges that were easily taken care of with a few passes of a file. Had to use a dremel to grind some metal down to get it to fit and function properly. I took my time and made sure to grind a little at a time. Once that was done this ambi safety was slick! I polished both sides to match my gun. I am very pleased with it!
Nice contour and shape. Will most likely require fitting on side, where plunger engages, in addition to fitting to sear. This means refinishing.
Great Safety(07/03/2013)
Another review states that this safety requires fitting and that is a Con. I disagree. The great thing about 1911's is that everything is custom and you can get as crazy as you want.
All safeties on 1911's will require fitting, don't refinish it because its not necessary. This Safety has a very postive engagement and disengament, so you know when it goes on or off. It won't flip back and forth. Excellent quality.
The only drawback to this safety is that the right side of the safety is a bit smaller than the left side. I am left handed, so I would like it to be a bit bigger. Right handed people won't be hampered and may not even notice it.
Works OK(16/04/2013)
With just a little fitting it works well. Right side is pretty small and a little "sharp". It is OK for a left hander. Installed on a STI Spartan 9mm.
Requires Fitting and plenty of it.(22/12/2013)
requires quite a bit of fitting and is a MIM part and has casting lines in it that should be removed by them when the part was benched prior to bluing also had some very sharp edges and the right side C notch had to be cut down to clear my wrap around Pachmayr grips and would have to be cut to clear a Ser 80 wide body as well and required a ton of filing and fitting in the sear block area's i feel sorry for any novice who tries to inst. this i would recommend watching a tutorial before attempting inst. the stop detent was drilled to deep and would stick and needed to be ramped with a dremel tool. i normally have good luck with wilson but the Kimber MFG looks to be a better fit for a ser 80 wide body.
Uncomfortable....(03/06/2016)
Due to the squared off back end of the right side lever, it digs into my trigger fingerjust past the first knuckle near my hand, to the point it leaves an indention in my finger, as well as interfers with taking the safety off... If you grip your 1911 high and tight.... this prob isn't for you.
Junk, save ur money buy Ed Brown Kimber(07/02/2017)
It's a poor design and not that well made. Save your money and get the Kimber or Ed Brown that uses a second pin for retention and support.
