Two-screw design leaves the center area open for embellishments that won’t work with single-screw caps. Counterbored holes ensure positive screw seating.

Can't Blue this thing(12/12/2009)
This grip cap looks very nice but has some irritating shortcomings.
1. The screws appear to be stainless. They are VERY soft, and can't be blued. 2. The cap looks like it blues, but the black rubs right off. Yes, it was properly prepared.
Unfortunate, since it looks quite nice.
Good for engraving, but very soft steel(29/07/2012)
I had one of these caps professionally engraved, blued and installed. I was showing my rifle when it bumped a wooden table, not hard, but it did make a small dent on the outer edge. This grip cap presents well, but I believe that the steel is simply too soft for practical field use.
Simple Elegance(03/02/2016)
The Fisher Grip Caps are the epitome of elegance for a fine sporting rifle, and the oval Mr. Fisher used in designing these caps is the best offered commercially.
Contrary to what other reviewers have stated, these caps (and included screws) blue easily, engrave easily, and add a touch of class to any rifle. Also, I've hunted extensively with rifles using both the one-screw and two-screw models and have never damaged or "dented" them beyond what would be expected as normal wear.
Requires fitting by a competent gunmaker/gunsmith.
