Multi-port brake softens felt recoil and reduces muzzle rise. A single expansion chamber and 42 total ports, 21 on each side, angled 7° forward, provide maximum recoil control. Gunsmithing required. Comes with a .220" (nominal) diameter exit hole that must be opened up to .020" larger than bullet diameter. Can be enlarged to allow bullets up to .44 caliber. Rear exterior of comp can be machined to conform to barrel.
SPECS: 4140 steel, chrome moly (CM), in the white or 416 stainless steel (SS), satin finish. 2-5⁄8" (6.6cm) long. Outside diameter; #4 - 1" (2.5cm), .865" (22mm).

They really work!(04/05/2011)
Can be machined into a barrel contour. Really does reduce recoil and muzzle jump. My 300WSM shoots like a 243Win with it on. Take it off, and my 18-pound rifle jumps four inches off the bag. Nothing at all wrong or deficient about this product. Have four of them on various other rifles. Love them. Just ordered another...
excellent addition to any barrel(02/06/2014)
I use this brake fitted to a 6.5 Grendel bull barrel (20"). The brake can be turned to match the barrel diameter without any problems, but you must adjust cutting speed in your lathe for the necessary interrupted cuts.
I first threaded a short segment to fit the brake and used this to hold the brake in the 3-jaw chuck with the tailstock live center in the brake muzzle. The brake can then be turned to match the barrel diameter. There is plenty of metal to do this operation.
The bore was then drilled to .020 over (N-letter drill for 6.5mm, as I recall). The brake did not fit my pre-threaded barrel muzzle flush. Instead of fitting a crush washer I machined a spacer to match the brake and barrel diameter by using the holding fixture that I machined. I inserted a steel washer behind the brake and then turned the washer to the diameter of the finished brake.
To install the brake so that it can be removed yet will not loosen, I used Permatex non-hardenening sealant--the kind you use for automotive water pump gaskets--to seal the barrel threads.
This is a nice brake that is a lot less work than machining a complete one out of a piece of stock. All my work was done using a 6" Atlas lathe and standard tooling.
