Monster Grip(31/05/2014)
Just received the Monstergrip today (31May). I like that It arrived very quickly. The grip was snug but attached just fine. The Monstergrip will take a little getting used to since I am accustomed to a pistol grip, but all in all it works fine. The diamond cuts are very aggressive, giving my hand good purchase. I have a CAR stock, but intend to replace it with a current contemporary fixed stock later. I am very happy with the Monstergrip.
Seems to Comply with CA Pistol Grip Ban(02/02/2016)
I installed it on my 9mm AR Rifle in a few minutes to build a "featurless" rifle so I can run my pre-ban magazines. As the previous reviewer said it was a tight fit onto the receiver but it will fit. I'm running an A1 stock and it worked fine. I held it up to a Magpul fixed stock and there would be a 1/2" gap. I noticed it was pushing on the A1 stock in a two places so I trimmed it slightly in the spots with a file. Seems like a better alternative to the bullet button, which I've heard is unsafe.
Easy install in CA(24/09/2016)
Fast install. The look, shape and the change to the rifle are odd, but along with removing the flash suppresser it helps you avoid the CA assault weapons registration. It is actually comfortable to hold and seems safe too. The rifle is easy to restore when out of state if desired.
The Monsterman grip, along with a thread protector and fixed stock, renders my AR a California approved featureless rifle.
Installation was a breeze. No alterations of any kind were required. The grip is similar to a "sporter" style stock. The grip is comfortable and for me, did not adversely affect handling my firearm. The grip is made from study plastic.
Fitting the Monsterman grip to an AK requires trimming the fin. I fit a Monsterman grip to an AK in 40 minutes using a file.
The only 'con' I have is that is required in my state.
