This Pistol Grip is modeled directly off of original grips, which are becoming increasingly difficult to find, or in decent condition. Good as the originals (01/10/2017)

I have several sets of originals on retro builds and extras in storage, excellent to NOS. Brownells has really stepped up with these retro pieces. Impossible to tell the difference from the originals. I only wish they had the M16A1 stock as well.

M16a1 Grip (05/12/2017)

This grip is a vast improvement over the newer a2 style grip. With the deletion of the finger nub, it is more comfortable than the a2. The fit and finish is very nice. Compared to the original a1 style, the plastic is matte vs the original gloss. The only problem was with the included grip screw is too long for my Anderson Manufacturing lower receiver. The original grip screw from my Anderson worked in the new a1 grip. Overall this grip is a nice reproduction for an M16a1 reproduction or just a good upgrade from the a2 style grip.

Retro build (26/01/2018)

Iâm using this pistol grip to finsh my build using real parts. only reason for 4 stars is because the grip isnât shiny enough to match my SP1 right next to it in the safe and the parts on the gun are shiny too. I got this one mostly because the real ones at the same or lower price point are pretty bad off. please make the grips shine more to match the real ones.

An ok grip (05/02/2018)

I was able to stop at Brownell's showroom on the way through for work, so I was able to handle the parts in person. I decided to order the furniture kit. For the most part Im pleased. However.... It requires some work to install. I have to drill the hole for the bolt in the grip. Not a big deal, but think that would be pre drilled. Im glad I got the furniture kit, because if I would have had to pay $15 for just the grip AND have to drill the mounting hole I would have not been happy.

Feels good, but a small issue... (22/02/2018)

I have been wanting one of these traditional grips for some time. Unfortunately, I found the one I purchased has the safety detent spring hold drilled too shallow, so when installed the spring is under pressure and you cannot adjust the safety. Not a big deal as I just got a drill and compared it to my old grip, but it was something that should've been done correctly to begin.

All the reported "bugs" worked out (15/03/2018)

Having never like the finger rest on the A2 style pistol grip, I backordered this grip and waited for them to come back in stock. I typically put MagPul grips on my AR builds but always liked the A1 style grip, the kind I used while serving. All the "bugs" others have reported seem to have been addressed, everything was ready to go; safety spring hole was right, grip screw hole was drilled out. You can order knowing all is good.

Well worth the money (23/07/2018)

Beautiful pistol grip, easy to install (includes the screw & washer and the hole was drilled in mine). Reasonably priced. Not surprised though, Brownellâs always does their best to treat the American shooter fairly.
