Cross Machine Tool's upper receiver is very nice, visually, and mechanically. Sizing and fit are superb. The forgings are HD and heat treated to 7075. I used one on a "combat / IPSC / 3gun" type AR in .233
I have nothing bad to say about them and I will definitely buy more CMT upper and/or lower receiver in an AR-15 or AR-10.

The machining on these uppers is much nicer than a MUR. Be sure to install FA roll pin from bottom where it is pilot drilled. Will buy again for next build.

From just an average weekend shooter my personal opinion is top of the line quality.
Mated this upper with Cross Machine/Tool PDW lower fit and finish is outstanding.
Best part of all it looks, and shoots awesome. Brownells was only place at the time to have in stock
And shipped fast and cheap!!!! Nothing bad to report here .

I have built two rifles using CMT upper and lower receivers. Their products are some of the best on the market. The fit and finish between the two are great. The lines and angles on the upper receiver are very aggressive look great.
To the guy that had crushed threads on his upper, Seekins is also a great choice, but let CMT have another shot. Actually, if you call CMT, they will probably swap it out for you themselves.

I received the upper and proceeded to attach the forward assist when I noticed some of the threads for the barrel nut were smashed, so I am returning it to Brownells! I may try a Seekins instead but they are currently out of stock!
