Not bad but not great(09/04/2010)
This mount is OK. To me it does not seem very stable for securing a scope and looks like there would be a lot of movement when fired. It also sticks out about 2 inches from the front of the carry handle and the peep sight hole is not aligned well so you lose some aiming ability but does still work. If I were buying this kind of item again I think I would go with a different one.
Decent Product! Not Plug & Play Though!(09/03/2011)
I agree with the Weaver Rail Review! Rail only has one factory mounting hole that didn't align with the hole in my handle. Overall length is 2" longer than my handle so that could be a plus or minus depending on your needs and cosmetic desires! Factory mounting screw is 1/4-20 thread so drill and tapping a new hole was a breeze if you're so inclined! Overall I was pleased with the rail and would recommend with precautions!
Great AR rail for moving scope forward(19/11/2017)
If you have an AR with the carry handle, and you want to mount a scope further forward than "normal," then this rail works great. It has Picatinny (MIL-STD-1913 rail) slots for the full length of 7.5" and the rail extends about 2.75" in front of the carry handle. This allows you to mount a scope far enough forward on your AR so that you can get a forward cheek weld on your stock while still allowing sufficient eye relief (distance from eye to back end of scope). It fits very well into the carry handle and then fastens in place with a thumb screw that passes through the carry handle hole. The threads are the very standard 1/4x20.
