Continuous Zero Fixed Rear Battle Sight For Improved Accuracy & Durability
Tactical backup sight is always deployed, so there’s absolutely no delay, no fumbling when you need to transition from the primary optic. Troy designed this sight to be simple, rugged, and reliable—and it takes up only 1-1⁄8" of rail space. Precision machined from solid aluminum, with plenty of metal on the protective “ears” around the two-position aperture. All edges and corners are rounded, and there are no protruding knobs or levers to catch on brush, clothing, or other equipment. Rear of the base is undercut to provide clearance for access to the charging handle. Same-plane aperture flips easily between .190" and .070" diameter peeps, just like the Folding Rear Battle Sight. Windage adjustable in ½ MOA clicks using a coin in the slot of the flush A1-style detent-locking adjustment wheel. Clamps to any Picatinny rail; installs with a standard flathead screwdriver.
SPECS: 6061 T6 aluminum, hardcoat anodized, Black finish. 1.5” (3.8cm) OAL, 1.25” (3.2cm) maximum width, 1.875” (4.8cm) high from top of rail to top of sight housing. 1.8 oz. (52g) weight.

Not so sure...(30/07/2010)
I had a very difficult time installing this thing on my flat top AR. Seemed just to simply not fit without a ton of effort. Thought it would simply slide on my rail, but this was not the case. I would not buy this product again. I would return it, but I dont think it would come off of my gun.
Works great(25/04/2011)
Not sure what the other reviewer had a problem with -- loosen the scrwe all the way, slide it on, tighten the screw and this thing is ready to go. Nice alternative to other options, especially when you don't need flip sights.
Works Great!(10/05/2011)
Really easy to install. Remove the charging handle and slide on from the back. Don't forget the loctite. It's a nice lightweight yet robust little sight.
great see through sight(25/11/2011)
I have the version with the diamond aperture. I love this sight. It is simply designed, rugged, quality materials. I have this on my primary M4, with an Aimpoint. I don't notice it until I need it. Install was easy. I'm going to agree that the first reviewer fell victim to the 10% rule regarding the equipment you work on. I don't see how there could have been any problem installing this sight. if there is an issue with anything you buy from Brownells, email them with a tech question. I did this a while ago, and the response was within a day. Considering the time difference is roughly 5 hours, I was more than impressed.
Great Fixed Iron Sight(13/01/2012)
I have the Di-Optic version of this and it is wonderful for me. I would recommend this to anyone, great manufacturing.
Rugged Sight(15/01/2012)
A well built basic sight that works well as a back-up or stand alone for flat tops. Clearly written instructions for easy installation. Windage only adjustment. Large aperture for close in work & a smaller aperture for more precise aiming. The sight is built on the K.I.S.S. principal and that has been easily achieved by the makers.
Perfect!(03/03/2013)
Rugged and reliable. What more could you want?
Troy Rear Fixed Battle Sight(01/06/2014)
Just placed it on a same plane build. The sight itself fit perfectly. Also, the sight acquisition was quick. If I ever do another same plane build, or even just want another rear sight, I will purchase this Troy sight. By the way, I also purchased the Troy Fixed Front Battle Sight to go along. I love it.
May need fitting(03/06/2015)
I had this sight on a 16" carbine for a few years and loved it. It fit the upper rail tightly and actually need to be tapped on with a mallet. I then switched the sight to a 20" rifle on a different upper. That is when I found out that 1913 rail spec is a range of measurements and this new upper was on the low end of the measurements. The sight would not tighten on the rail, so getting a zero was impossible. I then used the Dremel cutting disks and greatly widened and extended the slots, so the sight could be tightened. I succeeded in cutting the slots, it was not easy and it looks ghetto, but now tightens down nicely and holds zero like a king. I wish Troy would use a rail grabber like they do on the folding sights. The Daniel Defense 1.5 should not have these problems, since the slot is the full length of the sight. But it is a great rough duty fixed rear sight.
Rear Fixed Battle Sight, Black by TROY (19/03/2016)
I mounted this on a FN FNAR for use until I can afford to buy a nice scope. The matching front sight mounted smoothly with no issues, but this rear sight had to be basically pounded on with a rubber mallet. I loosed it as much as possible and even tried stretching the base out where the two cut lines are. It didn't help. I would not recommend this sight or purchase it again. Buy a different version, the base of this is a bad design.
Best iron sights ever(07/12/2017)
I have just ordered my second set for my new Doublestar flattop. I have been using this sight for about 4 years now on my other AR and it has held zero since day one.
If would have given this a 10 star rating if I could.
Easy as 1 2 3.. to install. It's a good product at the right price. Thank you Brownells.
