Great product for my Browning A-Bolts(04/01/2010)
I actually installed this myself!!! Yes, it is very simple with instructions. I have no trigger gauge BUT my A-Bolt and A-Bolt II now have lighter and smoother triggers with positive ignition. They both shoot great with the lighter 2lb springs. I sold the 3lbs springs on a gun forum as they were not needed and I preferred the lighter 2lb springs. I really don't think they make it a 2lb trigger pull. They are now comparable to other rifles I have that have had 3.5lb trigger jobs.
Spend the money!(02/11/2010)
I bought a rifle for my son for his birthday and evidently it had a trigger job. It was a Remington and the trigger was awesome. I compared the pull against my Browning and there was no comparison. I decided to buy the spring set for my Browning and it worked absolute wonders. Buy the springs and improve your accuracy!
Fixed the creep for me(03/08/2011)
My 1989 A bolt didn't really have a trigger weight problem. The problem was when I adjusted the trigger pull light, the trigger creeped a lot. I had to make it heavy to get rid of the creep. With the 3 pound spring, I can lighten it all the way and I don't feel creep.
Wow what a difference!(23/08/2012)
I have alway disliked the heavy trigger pull on my A-Bolt. I recently broke the trigger on it while hunting and found a replacement trigger @ Brownell's. While researching the trigger I ran across the Timney replacement springs. I ordered a new trigger and spring kit and installed them myself. The job took less than 15 minutes, was stupid easy, and saved me a lot of money!
Best Bang for my Buck!(20/12/2012)
I bought the way more expensive aftermarket trigger that is sold here by Brownells for my A-Bolt. I was not impressed, so I gave the Timney Spring Kit a shot. I will put this factory trigger up against any aftermarket trigger for this rifle. It was simple to install. After all the function tests, I put my digital trigger pull scale on it. The average for 10 results was 1 pound 13.5 ounces using the Light Spring during the install. Now if I can only find a spring kit for my BAR.
"Just what the doctor ordered"(06/03/2014)
I installed the lighter 2 lb. spring in my A-bolt Medallion, which was made in 1986, and it reduced the trigger pull from 4.8 lbs to 2.5 lbs. and the trigger breaks like glass. What more can I say. Truly a great product.
Timney A-Bolt Spring Kit(18/11/2014)
Great value for the price. I installed the springs in two different A-Bolts and all I can say is wow! You can't beat it... for under $30 you can turn two average triggers into two very impressive triggers. You will not be dissapointed with this purchase.
P.S.- While you doing this modification, take Ronsonol lighter fluid and flush everything else out. Makes a big difference as well!
A++SpringKit(01/04/2015)
Installed on 7-08. Trigger pull dropped from 3.5 to 1.5lbs.
Tested the safety - no issue - rock solid. Best upgrade for browning a-bolt rifle.
My groups tightened up from 3/4" to 3/8" by not dealing with a heavy trigger.
Easy install. It took more time to get the gun out of the safe than it took to install.
Great Improvement(23/09/2015)
I own an A-bolt 2 and I was not able to adjust the factory trigger as low as I would like it. It took less than 15 minutes to disassemble the rifle, install the spring, and reassemble the rifle. Easy upgrade, now the trigger pull is 2.1 pounds using the "light" spring.
