Clamp-on steel extension adds a serrated lever to the side of the hammer spur to give your thumb a large, easy-to-find horizontal grasping surface. A must-have if using a low-mounted scope, heavy gloves, or you just want a hammer that’s easy to grasp under stress or in wet weather. Hollow design keeps weight to a minimum, so hammer speed and locktime are unaffected. Holds tight on left or right side of hammer with steel Allen head screw.

Slightly recommend

Brownells USA Hammer extension for Marlin 1894CL rifle 20/06/2017

This hammer extension was to fit my 1975 manufacture Marlin 1894CL. It did not fit as specified. Slot for hammer to go into was .318" wide, rifle hammer .359" wide. Working with some small files to remove the required metal was easily done. After fitting, satisfied with fit and workmanship of product.

The hammer extension was easy to install on my new lever gun. The fit was great since it looks like it was made to match up with the hammer. It makes the hammer on the rifle easier to pull without the danger of gouging your thumb. It adds nice fit and finish to the rifle.
