Not for Auto Ordnance(04/11/2011)
It's a well made sight, but too loose for my auto ordnance M1 carbine's dovetail slot. It has fallen off a couple of times now.
Final touch to my Ruger M1 conversion.(14/11/2011)
When I did the M1 conversion on my Ruger 10/22, I started with a M1 replica sight kit. I removed the flipsight from the kit base and replaced it with the M1 sight by Kensight. It fits the dovetail perfectly. Be sure to loctite the kits base screws. Now, the 10/22 really looks like a M1 carbine and it is really easy to sight in. Also would probably work on a 03-A3 Springfield.
Great For The Auto Ordance M1 Carbine(29/02/2012)
I installed it on my AO M1 Carbine and it fit nice and tight and works very well. This sight is a reproduction of the earlier style forged base adjustable rather than the later, stamped base version and as such is well made and solid as a rock. I should note that the std flip sight my AO came with was in really tight and one should be careful removing it so as not to damage the rifle's dovetail and possibly loosen it up.
M1 Carbine Rear Sight(07/04/2012)
Tried to change out the rear sight on my International Carbine. Fits loose, however it's made very well - milled, not stamped. Will have to shim it to fit. Fortunately the old rear sight is OK for now but will get the new one to fit. Good product but you can't expect everything to fit on the old rifles exactly. Ya gotta work with it.
Pretty close to original(18/01/2014)
I had to replace the rear sight on my new to me Plainfield Machine M1 carbine where some hack modified the peep into a "V". I gave it a 4 because the dovetail is not a tight fit. I can push the sight into place with my fingers so I know it will not stay in place. I'll either have to peen the dovetail or JB Weld the sight into place. Otherwise I like the sight.
Fantastic on my AO M1 Carbine(29/04/2015)
I picked up a Auto-Ordnance M1 Carbine, model AOM130. Rear sights are the old school ones. Really a pain to adjust. This sight went on tight and secure. It took a little oil and a heck of a lot of wacks. I used duct tape to prevent scuffing. Didn't work as well as my normally used electrical tape but I had none left. :(
Overall it took the wacks with the brass punch and hammer very well. It is completely secure. Adjusts well. Stays on zero when shot. Great price... What more can you want.
Must have upgrade from old style sight(13/06/2015)
I installed (with zero problem) on my AO M1 Carbine. $26.99 + shipping was just not much for something that on just looks alone was a small price to pay. Add to that the windage adjustment which is really what this is for and it is a must have upgrade at a very low price.
I was able to remove the old sight and install this one using a very light mallet, punch, and electrical tape to protect the finish on the old as well as new sight. It can be done this way with no problem as long as you take your time and work slowly. Get in a hurry and you will probably mess up the finish. Start to finish for me was less than 45 minutes and that was taking my time.
I am very pleased with the product.
Installed on a Kahr AOM130 Carbine(13/02/2017)
Recommend use of a sight tool for removal of the original sight and installation of this sight. It can be removed and installed with a 5/16" brass punch and hammer but it's hard to secure the receiver and if the new sight needs to be reduced to fit the new sight may get stuck in the dovetail on installation. May need to trim the front bevel on the sight to fit the rifle's dovetails otherwise may be to tight to push into place. I used a Dremel type rotary tool with a sanding drum to remove a small amount of the sights front for a snug fit. Use caution as to much could easily be removed if you aren't careful. Also this sight is about 1/4" wider than the width of the original sight and the rifle's mount so you may want to round the outside edges of the sight's dovetail so its not left with the square edge on the sides that extend beyond the rifle, extends about 1/8" each side when centered on the rifle.
