M14/M1A 20 round magazine(01/11/2009)
there is only "one" magazine for any M1A/M14 and you, the buyer have two choices. Springfield or Pro-mag. You can't go wrong.
Think Again(28/11/2009)
I bought 4 of these mags and I wish I would have saved my money. The mag did not seat properly in the mag well. When the mag was in the bolt would not move forward because the back of the mag was too high. I had to grind the back end of the mag down with a file to make it possible for the bolt to feed the round.
Works for me.(02/02/2011)
Bought five of these for my M1A and they worked and work flawlessly. You can pay more for other brands for the same results.
they actually work!(21/06/2011)
The only aftermarket mag that works in my Springfield without modifications!! Cost less than CMI and Springfield mags, and you get a lifetime warranty......what else do you need!
It works(25/08/2011)
I purchased 1 ProMag M1A/M-14 MAG in the winter of 09 and so far so good. I have had no problems. I have a Springfield Armoury M1A that I purchased in 2001 and the mag worked with it ...
Unbeatable deal(02/10/2013)
Excellent construction and fit.
smooth(08/12/2013)
I have a Norinco M14 with a m14.ca scope mount and a leupold vx-2 scope, the rifle is picky when it comes to mags, and pro-mags work perfectly in it, and for the price, you cant go wrong. the stores in Canada will charge people $30-$40 per mag.
TOO SNUG(06/08/2014)
Just received these mags today, I ordered two. Some observations worth noting: These are a darker in color than the Springfield Armory mags and have a rougher texture, they are manufactured by PRO MAG not Springfield Armory, they DO lock the bolt back on the last shot, my set up is a Loaded M1A in a SAGE EBR/ALCS Chasis (you may have a different experience with a different set up). Now for my reasoning behind the low rating, these mags need a real hefty slap to lock into place, and I mean hefty. These mags should only be used for target practice, NOT law enforcement or self defense because of the extra fumbling required to seat the mags.
Not GI specification (31/01/2016)
Years ago while at the range a man with an M1A/M14 was having trouble with these Pro Mag 20 rd mags. He had trouble when he put more than 18 rds in it, as the rifle would try to double feed with 19 or 20 rds. He also had problems getting the mag to lock into the mag well. I tried all his mags in my M1A and got the same problems. I have only GI, suck as CMI and Borg-Warner. CMI or Check Mate Industries is the only manufacturer of GI M14 mags and the only one who supplies the US government. CMI are absolutely reliable and made in the USA.
In past decades many counterfeit mags have been manufactured by various foreign companies. Most of these end up at gun shows and online sellers.
Followers tip and jam on last round(07/03/2016)
In service rifle competition, you are required to load and fire one round at time. I purchased three pro mags for my M1A. All three of them have the same problem that on EVERY shot, with only one round in the magazine, the follower tilts up on its end and jams. This requires me to remove the mag, unjam the follower, and return the magazine before loading the next round. These are completely unusable.
WORHTLESS!!!(09/06/2017)
I purchased 6 of these mag. I have had issues with everyone of them. Almost impossible to rock and lock any of the magazines into place. Bolt would bind up on magazine and not full close. I had to constantly hit the op rod to make sure the bolt was in battery. I had multiple failure to feeds. Sometimes two rounds would stripe off jamming the bolt and the magazine. I would tug on the mag to make sure them were locked not place only to slowly back out of the mad well. PURE JUNK!!!
Would not properly seat. Returning.(16/09/2017)
I wished I noticed the earlier reviews and I would not have wasted my time purchasing these magazines. The magazine will not seat and lock securely to the rifle. I did not even get to fire a single round from the three I bought.
