Buttstock Bolt Hole(12/04/2016)
Received Mossberg 20 g buttstock from Brownells 984-000- 057WB - the buttstock bolt hole length was incorrect, for the standard Mossberg hardware (bolt & washers), to adequately engage the receiver -required washer and lock washer also used and ordered from Brownell's. As verified by e-mail from Brownell technical staff - bolt hole requires additional boring.
thumbs down(16/06/2015)
Recoil spring tube is not straight causing problems getting the stock nut and washer on. Where it attaches to the actual reciever, it is nearly 1/8 of an inch larger so serious sanding is required and if you already lacquered it, you just wasted a lot of time. Color is off from factory. Don't waste your time or money and just go to Remington for a good stock.
Beautiful Wooden 870 Butt Stock(27/10/2009)
The Stock is a beautiful piece of wood! But, there are a couple of things different from the 870 original... First thing I noticed was that there is no checkering on the grip portion and the wood finish is a satin finish! Secondly, the butt plate is a hard flat plate, not a shock absorbing rubber pad!
Fits perfect! Look is gorgeous! (13/09/2017)
Perfect fit and looks gorgeous. If you expect a rubber butt plate and a checker pattern, best you research your model prior to purchase fool. Geez
Nice stock(03/03/2015)
Very nice looking & well made stock. Did require minor fitting & drilling of the tang screw hole which is not recommended for the novice. I would have given a 5 star rating however the description states that it "Matches The Original Contour Of The Factory Stock" but it is actually very different. Customer was "ok" with it but stated that it really changed the overall feel & handling of the gun. For the price it is a bargain.
Poor fit!(04/05/2011)
Butt stock is a poor fit for the winchester model 37, 16 guage shotgun.
Excellent replacement(03/04/2011)
As described, it required a small amount of fitting. Good quality wood for a field grade shotgun. Used it on a 1924 Model 12 that I converted to a "trench gun." Color of the supplied stock was so close to the original corn-cob forend I decided not to refinish the stock.
