SPECS: 4340 chrome moly steel. Blue (BL) or 17-4 stainless steel (SS), matte finish. 2" (5cm) long, .850" (22mm) dia. BL ¾"-28; 975" (24.7mm) dia, SS ¾"-28; 9.80 (24.8mm) dia. Hardened to Rc 42. .250 dia. exit hole, must be drilled out for calibers above .223. Requires threading and indexing of barrel. Instructions included.

Brownells USA METAL TOO HARD 11/02/2015

We tore up everything in the gunsmith shop trying to drill this out to .360 for .338 Ultra. Somehow this Stainless Steel was significantly hardened by over heating etc.

Definitely recommended

Brownells USA Great Brake 10/08/2011

Brake is effective and one of the only "open" designs allowing easy cleaning if snow/garbage gets into it. Just wish they sold a thread protector, but nothing a few minutes on a lathe won't correct.
