Right Size For The Junior Shooter

Scaled down in both size and weight with a shorter forearm and length of pull to help younger shooters use correct stance, grasp and sighting. Standard cheekpiece for use with iron sights. Drop-in fit, fully inletted to fit factory barrel. Nicely finished with three coats of Watco oil. Fitted with black plastic buttpad.

SPECS: Walnut, oil finish. Length of pull approx. 11-¼"(28.6cm). 23-¼"(59cm) long. 20.7 oz. (588 g) weight.

Very fine item. (15/04/2012)

My eight year old daughter tried shooting my 10/22 and it was a stretch for her, so I went looking online and found this item.
Delivery was very fast. It fit very nicely, no alignment issues. Took all of the kids out to the range and really liked not having to stretch so far to get a decent sight picture.
The youth stock doesnt have the high gloss finish of the standard Ruger stock, but it made me think of the plain functional look of the old military weapons when they used wood.
I'm very inpressed with the product and service and will look here first in the future when I need anything firearms related.

Poor Quality (07/11/2013)

This is the first item I've returned due to poor quality in the decade or so that I've been ordering from Brownells. Butt plate was canted and unevenly sanded. Inletting was rough and too deep. Trigger housing and magazine were not flush with the bottom of the stock. Nose of the forend was blunt and unappealing. Wood figure was nice, but that was the only redeeming quality. Going to buy a factory wood stock and cut it down for my son rather than try to make this thing work.

Pricey, but very nice wood. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Easy to install. It looks so nice, it will be a shame to have to switch it to an adult size stock once my son outgrows it.

Ok, not great (27/09/2016)

Bought this to swap out on my old 10/22 so my 7 year old could shoot. Didn't want to go with the tactical style stocks. Hard to find a youth size stock. Maybe I expected to much. Wood looks OK. Nothing fancy. Problem is with the mill work. This is a Sporter style stock that doesn't use the front band. Only uses the screw forward of the mag well to assemble. But the opening for the receiver is too big so the barrel/receiver actually twists in the stock. Had to make shims to tighten the fit.
