Not the same as the Yost(21/03/2018)
Wasn't expecting multi vise quality at this price, but this looks really rough. My vise needs are infrequent, so I'll keep it, but this is probably the item that will have me making use of the Brownells guarantee.
I used this vice for minor jobs, such as hack sawing plastic scales for knife handles, and other minor wood projects. I found out that there is a lot of wiggle in the jaws, they donât align up parallel. Also the screw is made of soft metal so that they appear to Gaul after a few times to tightining up the project. The bottom part of the casting broke off, what caused it must have been a minor bump.a lot of slop in the casting, poor tolerances, poor materials.it is now going to the junk pile
Best vise for the money(25/07/2018)
After paying almost $300 for the Brownells vise and seeing how poorly made it is and the lead screw stripping easily, paying $60 for this is a no brainer. If youâre expecting a Wilton or Startett vise for this money, you are delusional. Itâs a great low cost alternative as long as you know itâs limits.
