The Sinclair Bullet Seating Depth Tool has been used for decades by handloaders seeking the most accuracy out of their rifles. Our newest model is made from one fourth inch ground and polished stainless steel with one end turned down for use with 17 and 20 caliber rifles and the other end used for 22 caliber and up. This tool helps you determine the length of a loaded round touching the rifling. The Sinclair Seating Depth Tool will work with most bolt action, single shot and AR type rifles. The tool includes a Delrin action guide suitable for most bolt-action rifles (0.690” Diameter fits Remingtons, Savages, Winchesters, and many Rugers). For the most accurate measurement, the Sinclair Bullet Seating Depth Tool uses your fireformed brass and bullets so you can expect an exact measurement, every time. Also available are guides use in AR-15's, AR-10's, and Tubb's 2000's. The guide is a little different than our standard bolt-action guides. This guide inserts into the back of the upper receiver (with the bolt removed). The tool is then used as normal. For best results couple this tool with our Bullet Comparators and a good set of calipers to get repeatable and precise Base-To-Ogive measurements.

Another One That Works(27/01/2011)
Perfect every time. Just how do Sinclairs manage to keep designing great products. This tool takes up little space and is so easy to use, made out of quality materials. Add to this a dial gague and you are ready to make the most accurate ammo you have ever produced..
Good tool(11/03/2011)
This is an easy to use, repeatable, and accurate tool for checking bullet seating depth.
A Small Flaw(16/10/2011)
I used this product on an AR10 and my only problem was that the rod wasn't long enough when measuring a very short bullet(Speer 125gr TNT). I had to reverse it and be very careful to not let the small diameter end rest in the primer pocket. Another inch would be nice.
Best tool for the job(31/12/2011)
I was using a Frankford Arsenal tool that was made of plastic and used a cleaning rod through the bore. The Sinclair Tool is much sturdier and more accurate. Don't waste your money on anything else.
The set/grub screws are too short for use on an Encore. It is a common screw thread so it is easy to find a longer screw.
Better than Hornady Lock-N-Load(16/04/2013)
Much more accurate readings than the Lock-N-Load as you utilize a once fired case from the firearm you are using vs. the generic case from Hornady. The stainless steel shaft is a great change from the older Sinclair gauge which could rust in humid locations making the collars difficult to move. It comes packed in a nice clear plastic tube which I use to store it with the standard collar, an AR-15 collar and Sako 75 collar.
Sinclair Seating Depth Gauge(30/06/2013)
Watched the on-line video several times to ensure I understood how to use the product. First three measurements produced +/- 0.0015" (0.001"-0.003") of accuracy. Suspect additional trial runs with consistent pressure transfered from the rod to the seated bullet measurements should improve.
Works Great(13/11/2013)
Only problem I had was. I didn't get the case fully setted in the chamber. Finally used the bolt to seat the case fully and got good readings. Nothing to break or wear out will last for ever.
Works great!(18/12/2013)
I bought this to use on my AR-10 and it worked just fine with 175g Sierra Match King BTHP bullets. I also bought the AR-10 insert. I will be using this on my new bolt gun to achieve proper seating depth. Great product!
Money well spent(29/04/2017)
This product is simple and made from good materials. The first time I used it I shot a 0.165" group at 100 yards. That's pretty good for a 35 caliber hunting rifle. My load development consisted of seven rounds. Two charge weights. One fouler. Two three shot groups. The second group was money.
Loose as a goose(15/10/2011)
I have no problems with the rod or the stops. It's the guide that I have a problem with. I have a Kimber 8400 and order the correct guide. Once the guide is in place there is so much play, that there is no way to get an accurate OAL measurement. There is some serious wobble. I had to take some Scotch Tape and make several wraps around the guide so it would not wiggle around.
The guide measured .667. With the tape wrapped around the guide it now measures .685, now it's wiggle free.
