Light, crisp break, short reset (23/03/2018)

Pre ordered April 2017, showed up 2 days ago. Light, crisp break, break falls away, tactile & short reset. Haven't shot yet, but dryfire is promising.

Disappointing (27/03/2018)

This product did not meet my expectations. I bought the trigger from Brownell's after waiting about 2-3 years. This trigger, the original SSP, was hyped to be the fasted thing out there.

The trigger became vaporware. Eventually, it was listed on the Geissele web site and Brownell's but was rarely available. Some did get out in early 2017, but not many. It was actually reliably available in mid March, 2018, at which time I bought one.

The name has evidently changed. It was known as "SUPER SPEED PRECISION", and still shows on Brownell's as such, but is listed on Geissele's web site as well as the literature sent with the trigger as "SINGLE-STAGE PRECISION". That should have been a clue in itself.

I have owned several Geissele triggers and more from other manufactures. I installed this trigger as was immediately disappointed. I have some S3G and SD3G triggers that are superior, with shorter take-up (pre-travel) and less over-travel. By common standards, the trigger is not horrible. However, it certainly is not anything Earth changing either. I could definitely feel the take-up, a bit of grit, and the over-travel that is simply too long. (Be advised: Most people will not feel this as most do not regularly use high triggers.)

For the money, I would use a Jard trigger. Heck, the Geissele 3gun triggers are faster. There is noway that I am going to believe this the trigger that AR15.com 3 years ago said was going to set the world on fire. On a positive note, it does have one heck of a hammer spring and should extremely reliable. If you don't know how to tune a trigger, this is not a bad trigger. This trigger does meet my expectations for a good, sound, average trigger, with around a 3 pound weight. The trigger is well made, clearly. I admitted to owning more than a few $400 - $500 triggers (Fire Control Groups (FCGs)) that look like they use sand castings. While fast, those are poorly/cheaply made.

Nevertheless, this trigger is NOT the game changer I expected. I don't have a need for another good, average trigger. I will be contacting Brownell's to arrange a return of the trigger.

Awesome Trigger (15/04/2018)

This is my first Geissele trigger. I bought it on the recommendation by a couple of friends that own several Geissele triggers in many different gun/caliber configurations. This is the best trigger that I have ever had the pleasure to squeeze. It is very crisp, light and has no travel. When you dry fire it and observe the end of your barrel, it does not waiver due to the influence of the squeeze which translates into a very steady and controlled precision shot. I am the type of person that if I miss a shot, I want it to be my fault therefore I will not have a questionable component on any gun. This trigger takes the possibility of barrel movement due to trigger squeeze out of the equation. This will now be my go to trigger when I need one. I definitely recommend it. I am in no way affiliated with Geissele company and my opinion is solely based on my experience.

Amazing trigger (22/05/2018)

I been looking at getting this, because I like single stage triggers. The SSP is by far the best trigger I own in any rifle. The install is super easy and they include instructions for where to lube and how to install.

Geissele all the things (17/02/2017)

As with all Geissele products, machining is superb, drops in and fit my aero precision lower without any problems. This is a must have if you are planning on a 3gun build, initial ompression is that this trigger feels faster and has the same tactile reset as my SD3G.

Knowing and been dealing with Geissele over the years, they stand behind their products and do manufacturer confidence.

A little disappointed (11/07/2018)

So my last review from last year has a lot of negative score.

Let me explain, i was 1 of the first few that had gotten the "Gen1", and that trigger was awesome. It had no take up nor pre travel and a very very short reset. Fast forward to 2018 June, i finally gotten the "Gen2", which they completely changed the design. It looks more like a 2 stage trigger with the 2 hooks and well, obviously enough, it pulls kind of like a 2 stage. It has a bit of pre travel before it breaks, very short but its there. The break on the Gen1 has the same carrot feel as the SSA at its second stage, where the Gen2 is more of the SSA-E icicle break (using Bill's term)

To put this in perspective, the Gen 2 SSP is more of a shorten pre travel SD3G than the actual Gen 1 SSP. Its still a great trigger, don't get me wrong. But it is unlike a true single stage like the Wislon Comabt TTU.
