The Same, Tactical Sling Mount Used By Our Armed Forces
This genuine, Colt factory part is the one used by our GI s on the M-4 carbine to allow attachment of M203 grenade launchers or forward mounted lights and lasers. Steel, two-piece unit clamps directly around the barrel between the barrel bands of the Mil-Spec front sight housing. Can be mounted at the right or left side of weapon and features a rubber-coated swivel to eliminate sling abrasion and noise. No modifications or gunsmithing required. Also fits AR-15/M16 rifles with conventional front sight housing.

FYI: Some assembly required!(11/05/2010)
This is THE best side sling swivel you'll ever find. Although a bit pricier than some kits, this is the real deal.
Be advised, Colt kits do not come assembled. You must have sling rivet installation know-how to attach the sling swivel to the mount. Note that the rivet isn't flared in the picture.
Once assembled, attaching the unit to the barrel is a snap using a pin punch and tap hammer.
These sling points are excellent(21/03/2011)
These sling points are a great addition to a CAR-15. Have used these on military issued M4's and they work. Only reason I did not give this product 5 stars was the price, its Colt so your paying for a name, but this product is worth the money in my opinon.
Great Mount(31/12/2011)
works great. only problem I had was the pins that came with it were way to large. simple fix tho. just bought new pins at the hardware store
Tactical Sling Mount(30/12/2013)
Promag makes one for about half the price; however, it is lower quality. This is the same one I have had on my military M4.
If you have a high end M4, buy this one, if you are putting it on you commercial model, save the money, and buy the Promag version.
Sling now angled correctly(26/04/2014)
My rifle is now comfortable with the sling.
Install the sling mount to the barrel attaching mechanism first.
Expect a slight degradation in accuracy due to barrel harmonics.
This is for working rifles. Not bench rest stuff obviously.
