I will buy more(05/08/2011)
the extra $5 is well worth the money. We have enough starps on vests, packs and other gear that we don't need to be trying to sort them out under stress. The stiffened, rubberized nylon strap allows you to pull the weapon in close while transitioning to a secondary weapon or handcuffs, without having to take your eyes off the target.
Great item!(13/01/2012)
Great item. Almost didn't get small enough for me, I'm 5'11'' 180 ish. Not the slings fault though. May get an original that can adjust smaller because it isn't padded. Love this item. Works great looks great.
Great sling(28/05/2012)
I've had this sling for about 6 months. I use my AR mostly for hunting coyotes and I walk a lot. Being able to quickly and easily snug the rifle up tight to my back or chest while hiking really makes a difference. No flopping or banging around. Very easy and quick to adjust with one hand on the sling strap and one on the rifle. If you like a two point sling and want some padding try this one. V-TAC has a good video.
5 out of 5(22/12/2013)
Bought two one for the AR one for the mini. Works great, awesome quality parts. Easily adjusts and tightens down for more accurate shots in different shooting positions.
Bought one for each rifle(15/03/2015)
The main feature I like about this is that it has a unique way to quickly adjust the length of the sling. You can easily adjust it to be tight to your body, and then suddenly without much effort be able to loosen it enough to aim. While out hunting, you can adjust the length of the sling easily while keeping the rifle in a very comfortable position. With my old sling, I had to either sling it diagonally across my opposite shoulder, or sling it on my right shoulder. Over my shoulder I would have to constantly adjust the sling because it's slipping while walking. With the VTAC, I can walk around all day and not worry about my rifle slipping, and can easily use both hands. Also, it doesn't make noises. For example, with the typical sling, you can easily hit branches, rub against leaves, etc making a lot of sound. WIth the VTAC, you can silently and effortlessly adjust it to take aim naturally since the rifle will be around your chest.
It takes a little time to learn how to use this sling. When I first got it, I naturally - at least for me - wanted to put the adjustment straps on the butt of the rifle. The reality is you need to put the adjustment area to the front of the rifle, and keep the rifle from your shooting shoulder, and the sling under your offhand. This will allow the rifle to constantly be pointed downwards, and you can easily shoulder/adjust.
At first, I accidentally bought the upgraded version of this sling without knowing much about it other than watching some videos online about it and liking it. After using the sling for a while, I decided I wanted one for every rifle. I bought the normal version of the sling and realized my error then. I had to return it and buy the upgraded sling. My recommendation to everyone is to buy the upgraded version. Not only does it have better buckles and padding (which is important for heavier rifles), but it has a better adjustment/release system.
Now I'm not sure about soldiers/hunters out there, but if I had to make one negative point it would be the lack of a quick release. This is rather important especially if your caught on the field or need first aid. If you happen to be in that sort of situation, you'd have to cut the sling.
Good stuff...(14/10/2010)
Pro's Strong stitching Well thought out design quick adjust can switch shoulders if needed to shoot without "drama"
Cons Metal quick adjust buckle... A bit of electrical tape got the buckle in line.. however if you have a closet queen rifle... you may want to get ready to protect the sling quick adjust from doing harm. If you are using this sling for work and you are not using this to be pretty.. I give it 5 stars.
Great sling(04/01/2012)
This is a comfortable and great sling. I use a tri glide and noveske qd end plate. It makes this a very great set up to use for single or two point slings. Its quick and easy to adjust. There enough length in the sling to use for offside shooting.
NIce sling(21/07/2011)
Well made, I really like the padding and loads of adjustment for big or small shooters
Great sling(10/10/2009)
I've got 2 and love the variations this sling offers. It will adapt to any need you have. I like the padding, especially if having to wear it for long periods of time.
Great for field use(29/11/2009)
the Vtac padded sling is the way to go. Had no issues using this for long periods of time with no complaints. This sling in my opinion is intended for a rifle that is going to be used. The quick slack adjuster is metal. That means dependable, failsafe performance.. however it also means that there may be an instance were it clangs against the rifle without padding the adjuster.
The Sling to have!(22/03/2010)
The quick adjust is fantastic, Being able to go from ready to hands free/transition weapons and back with a quick pull is priceless!
Great Sling for CQB(20/09/2010)
Great and easy to use. Quick transition from aiming to carry.
The best(21/10/2010)
I am in law enforcement for a large consolidated police/sheriffs office in Florida. When we finnally got issued AR-15's,the three point slings seemed to be what everyone was using. I personally did not like a three point because the parallel strap was in the way of your bolt release etc. Then one point's came out and everyone thought THAT was the way to go. When you have 81/2-9lbs (with accesories mounted) hanging from 'one point' on your neck, it get's old. When you ran, it slapped and slipped around in all the wrong places. Yet even with that, I put 'one point's' on all my AR's thinking that was the best I could do. Then on a lark, after looking at a catalog, I went ahead and bought this tactical two point sling. Installed it and what a difference it makes. You can tighten, loosen, adjust, whatever you need to do with it. You can use it to stabalize your shot placement (just like a real sling is intended to do). You cannot do that with a one point. Highly recommend this sling. Don't bother with 'one points'/'three points' if you use your rifle for a living. Well made, and US made. By our USA products anyytime you can.
Another lover!(13/06/2011)
I was hauling a Bushy Predator (20" heavy barrel and steel full-float foregrip)with a big scope,PRS buttstock, 60 rounds(30rnd magX2) & a bi-pod attached around the prarie, sometimes a 1/4 mile or more, and it weighed more than most newborn calves. It is now comfortably slung with this product, and I couldn't be happier. The quick extension release is great for those surprise off-hand shots or quickly crouching/kneeling. Shoulda' made it my 1st purchase from Brownells.
Excellent Product(06/07/2011)
I use this in a working environment, excellent product, easy to use, very easy to set up. Simple design and good for both left and right handed operation.
Awesome Sling(24/05/2012)
Quality product and easy to use. Holds the rifle close and tight to my body allowing me to go hands free without worrying about the weapon flopping around. With a simple pull, the weapon is free and ready. The padded version was worth the extra couple dollars.
Awesome product(04/02/2015)
I own 3 AR platformed rifles that I use for duty purposes. Single point slings slings, to me, just don't cut it for duty use. The VTAC sling is easy to use and quickly adapts to the situations at hand. Adjusts easily, installs easily, quality construction, takes the abuses of being tossed in and out of a patrol vehicle.
